reading the ranger forums again...dang me and my curiosity...now i want to be a Ranger again :/

any way...nice to see that after 5+ months of not being a ranger, we still dont know who we really are and that we still have the same ideas (mostly) of what we want from the devs AND that the devs STILL havent done anything about it except make Jedi better. So, down to the point of this post:

Should i become a Ranger again and use tons of skill points? or should I go rifleman/swordsman and own in PvE? Basically, i dont know what profession i want to be now...so if anyone could tell me why Ranger is worth my time to grind again...thanks

There's a phrase that many of us have been using to describe the Ranger, amoung our community and in the game: "Ranger is a Lifestyle, not a Proffession". To many of us, that means that no matter what, even if you're not a Ranger in terms of points spent, you can be a Ranger in the way that you play whatever proffession you choose. Don't grief, don't gouge and don't do anything you'd be ashamed to tell people about on the Ranger forum.

In the end, it's up to you what you want out of the game. I've done proffessions other than Ranger. But in the end, I'll always be a Ranger. The way I'm dealing with wanting to do other profs is this: My main toon will be a Ranger. no matter what combat prof I choose, he'll be a Ranger. I've made toons on other servers. I'm going to get Master Ranger with them...but if I want to try the flavor of the month proffession...I can choose to do that too. That way, I can balance my light and dark sider urges. Try it out and start swordsman. Go up the Ranger tree at the same time. See how you like it. If it's not right for you, you can change it when you want. Play the way that makes you happy. If you want to still post on the Ranger forum, there's no law saying on Rangers can post here.

If Ranger is a lifestyle for you, the proffession tag above your name is of little importance.
