Darn you Calc and your template question!
Now I'm addicted to that arrg! character generator again. I want to try... swordsman... pikeman... droid engineer... bio-engineer... TKA... tailor... squad leader... imperial theme park... make RIS armor... not get one-shotted in the DWB... But I can't bear to give up Paks's template! (go rebs!)
I need a second account. And more free time. Aaaaand a winning lottery ticket would be nice. And how the heck am I going to get a $500 cougar joystick??? Thanks Fred for putting THAT in my head! /envious grumble.
Just sitting here dreaming about all the stuff I want to do when I get home from work... and realizing how much I enjoy this game.
Even with annoying bugs, no re-vamp, and in-game people I want to kick.
Every day I feel like I am opening a present when I double-click the SWG icon (or logon the Ranger forum).
In fact, between the game and these forums I may never work again!
Er... okay. Back to work.

Get a second account Paks...It is easier that way...I have a Doctor, WS alt so that Calc can always remain a Ranger yet switch his combat prof at will.

Or, as I plan to do, wait until Pub 10, do jedi quests, to open second slot and use it new slot to create new Ranger with Ithorian (after buying JTL).

LOL, I feel the same way
Recently added an alt account a Musician Doctor, because I missed being a Doc (was my main profession for 6 months before I went Ranger) and Musician is one of the RP things I like the most (hopefully post hologrind that will be fun again)
but I don't think I could have writen this better myself "Even with annoying bugs, no re-vamp, and in-game people I want to kick. Every day I feel like I am opening a present when I double-click the SWG icon (or logon the Ranger forum)." -Vorpaks

No really. I'm working.
I have promised myself an alternate account as soon as our finacial situation improves... though we are also still sleeping on matresses on the floor so maybe a bedstead comes first...
Naaaah. Some people CHOOSE to sleep like that...
I can forsee a major problem with having a second account... as soon as I have one I'll want a third... and a fourth... AND THE MADNESS WILL NEVER END! I dropped Master Dancer so that i could persue a crafting profession. The Boss wouldn't let me get a third account!

EDIT: The financial thing sounded a little pathetic so I'll put it in perspective - we have no bedstead, but five computers. It's all about priorities. And being dorks. Probably mostly the dork thing.

LOL, poor Paks. Know the feeling though. I have been casually mentioning needing (note, need, not want) a second account. Y'know, so I can craft and tinker and support my main...
Finally come to a sort of agreement in so much as IF I manage to arrange to go visit with family during the summer vacation (valuable gaming time wasted driving and socialising, pah) AND I cancel the subscriptions to my PC mags which, if am honest I only keep going because I like getting something in the mail other than sales junk, then I can have my second account.
Oh yeah, there are other conditions attached to this 'sort of agreement' which involve clearing the garden (had forgotten we have one), giving the dog a trim, tending the apple trees and helping with the kids homework....
As for getting JTL? I'm just hoping to manage to sneak that under the radar

Yes, 2nd account is tempting...but I am confused enough with just one account and one toon, it would be a total waste for me
I always felt sorry to drop a Mastered profession...all that work gone, nothing left except for the badge.
Maybe they could change the rules so that one could remaster the same profession much quicker For example, the xp requirements might be 1/10th the normal. Then one could try out different professions and return to a favorite one without too much pain.
Alternatively, once mastered, old professions might be "mirgrated back" over a week or so, by using the services of a MSL or MPolitician, etc.

I've always thought it (searches for semi positive phrase so as not to whine...) ah! amusing, that I can master medic, become a doctor, then drop back down the skill tree and suddenly find I'm unable to do as much as stick a bandaid on a cut.
Some element of your skills should be 'sticky'. Or, as VeriBeri says, it should be a quicker relearn if you're working back up the tree later. I mean, surely even a Ranger could remember something about the animals that've been tracked in their past?
Actually, just thinking about it, a MSL / Politician figure, or an npc like the Record Keepers could be used as a source to purchase XP in a previously mastered skill once you get past, say 1-1-1-1. After all, you can already go buy the xp from a faction recruiter.... well, sort of. Och, you know what I mean.
