Thread: Organic resource pricing and price fixing

the problem is this meat is used mostly by the Bio-engineer, with a distant second being the chef. Now a chef can buy it for 50cpu because he sales directly to the idot public, the bio-engineer who uses it the most though, has a soft cap on how much he can make because he sells in mass quantity to a chef which wants to chaft them as much as possible. So sure you can get more for it but it will be by the person who needs it less and who caps the bios ability to compete for the meat.

If the market isnt at the price you want then store it mate.

I store lots of my harvests until the market booms again.

It's not that the market isn't where I'd like it. As said earlier, there have been posts offering a higher amount so I guess the market and supply/demand is working it's magic. This meat probably has a value of 70 cpu or thereabouts so it's inching closer to the mark. I imagine that when chefs start using this stuff, we'll see another spike.

Maybe I'm just surprised at how much resistance I'm meeting. Ahhh well. I suppose I will chuck my 200k into the house and let it set a while. See what happens in a week or so to see what happens after the shift.

Back to the woods for me.

Like the other guy said store it. Remember the markets flooded because its current. Put it away and wait for it to become rare. With those stats in a couple weeks it will again be in demand.

I too am I on KETT and feel it is too low, but someone had told me once on this forum not to sell during major push. WAIT a couple weeks til after it goes away. I just had my vendor cleared out of YAVIN AVIAN from last good run and I had it marked up to 150 cpu because if I didnt sell it i was giving it to guild DOCS!!

SO PUT IT AWAY.

Greetings fellow Masters and soon to be Masters:

Quick question for you all in regards to pricing of meats. I know each server has it's own quirks when it comes to pricing but what I was looking for was more opinion than anything else.

We have a current spawn of Endorian Carnivore meat with the following stats: DR=563, FL=994, PE=956, OQ=932. The forums have a habit of starting threads stating a price and then suggesting anyone else wanting some of the meat will sign their name and agree to this price. The only problem I have with this is at this time, the offer on this meat is 30 cpu, just less than half of what I think it should be worth using some of our favourite calculations.

Now, my question is even though hunters can harvest a great deal of this meat in a short amount of time, shouldn't the stats be more important? The OQ/PE/FL average is 960!!!! An amazing number to be sure. So I've posted on a couple of threads about how I think this price is too low and is basically being used to 'price fix' and create that number as the going rate.

Just for the record, there have been several other threads offering 50 cpu on this so the free market is working, just seems a bit lopsided.

What do you think? I leave it up for discussion.

I would sell that for 18 cpu. Endor Insect, while tricky to get, can be had in volume. I'd still probably come out with about a million more cr in my account after the shift ends. Why hike prices?

you guys dont understand you can hold it for a year and never see anything close to this and it still wont go too high. This is a bioengineer meat and a very second poor chef meat. You see people stopping at 30cpu because thats what they can pay for it and they are paying very for it at that. This isnt avian or herbi meat that sells to doctors who then again sales back to you for 10x the price in their buffs and meds. Nope bios deal in volume to sell at a modest profit not even double most often only a few hundred K more than the whole run cost them.

Sure you can find better deals, but its just going to be a chef that already overprices his stuff and makes you pay for it in the end. So either way you are going to get 30cpu for it just depends how you want to see it and who you want to see it go to.

Well as usual I love these threads and the law of supply and demand rule!!! I keep telling you that the market drives the price!

As I was on today I had tells and emails outbidding each other....mainly because I have 12 people hunting it right now and I am holding it!! I could have pushed the price to 100 cpu easy but opted for the preferred customers getting it for 50 cpu and new contracts 60 cpu.

I do this so I get repeat customers!!!

I have already noticed people outbidding each other....already up to 75 cpu in there with bonus's for big lots!!!!!

SUPPLY AND DEMAND!!!

Well those are amazing stats. When I sell harvest and sell I do take into consideration quantity. My Ranger group could get massive amounts of stuff fast, and people knew it. So we used that as a small factor in price. If something is very low level slow and boring to harvest then we charge more. For example I was offered 100cpu for Tat avian, and turned it down.

Now you are correct for those stats on Bria it would probably run for about 60-90 cpu. But it's carnivore, that's what the problem is why you think it should be more. If it were avian with that kind of stats it would prolly go for 300-500cpu. No kidding. Carnivore can be used for the generic organic slot on medical crafting, and chefs use it most. The chefs don't charge what docs do for stims and buffs. And the other factor that you hit in is how easily it is to get it. Everyone and their brother is out getting this stuff on Endor. It would be worse if it were Dath Carvore meat from rancors.

As a BE I would buy it at 29-30 cpu. Maybe up to 40 cpu, due to its exceptional quality I might be able to eek out some +59/89/119 tissues out of it and charge enough to make up the difference.

Anything more than that and I would not be able to sell at a profit to chefs. Despite the fact they can make a 500% profit, most refuse to buy if our costs net us 100%. Most BEs simply can't afford meat like that.

It's your meat though. If you don't want to sell it for less, you don't have to. I'm sure there are people that will buy it, it just isn't the majority of BEs.

good man. That's how RoB does it. We lock down a price based on our own calculator we made. We sell it at that price for everyone, and it's first come first serve on orders. We started having to put people in at a cap of 75k stacks. We would get an order from a regular for 200k stack, but then sometimes on fast spawns no one else got any. So we capped the stack order, if we fill yours we move to the next order fill it, move on, and continue either until the spawn is done, or we get the last order. If for example we had an early order for 150k, we would then go back and do another 75k for them.

By doing it this way, we kept our regulars, because they knew exactly who to put an order in to once a spawn came up. Us. Then the others would start to come in. We paid our hunters the exact same thing we sold it for, and the buyers liked that and the hunters liked that. By the hunters liking it, we kept regulars of them and would keep getting new ones. Which mean we could keep our orders.

Worked well for a long time. We peetered out here recently, not having enough hunters to fill orders. 2 of the four Hunt Masters were no longer in game much, and the other two of us were getting burned out. So we put RoB on vacation for a while. But we are getting back into again, and like I said, going to try a vendor.
