I'm not sure what you are asking for exactly but these two websites help me out when I decide to go hunting:

www.swgcraft.com to find the planet with the best resources on my galaxy
www.swgcreatures.com to find the animal with that resource that I will hunt. The ammount you harvest (if I'm not mistaken) is based on the creature's creature level. So say you are looking for avian on endor, go to swgcreatures and find the creature that gives avian meat and has the highest CL of all of those creatures. sometimes the highest is a rare spawn so you have to narrow it down to a type of creature, but you see my point.

With the ammount of different resources possible and the number of planets and creatures, actually compiling a list might be a daunting task. It would be sweet tho if someone with web skills would create a ranger site that comined the info on swgcraft and swgcreatures for that one stop shopping experience.

I was just wondering if anyone has compiled a list of the best way to get a certain type of meat/hide/bone from a certain planet. You know, we get the listing of the best type of creature resource for chef/armorsmith/be, etc and have to go to that planet to harvest. Those of us that are less experienced .. and dont have it memorized .. would really benefit from a quick reference as to what the best and most efficiant creatures to harvest from are. Or if that resource is even harvestable (by general standards) in any kind of worthwhile stack?

If this has been answered before, then I missed it in a search and would love the list. If not, perhaps we can work on compiling one for sticky?

I have found you really need to know your abilities and the planets fauna, and what resources it will have. SWGcraft gives you the best info on current ersource qualities, while SWGCreatures lets you know what creatures have it. And on most planets, creatures only spawn in certain areas. I felt I have become a sort of expert on naboo and Taoo, now I am starting to learn the ways of the other nearby planets

I just reread my post and it didnt make much sense Basically, I know to go to swcraft to see what resources are the best for certain things (I am a chef and BE also on another character). And I know to go to SWcreatures to see what has that resource. What would be nice is if we had a list by planet of the BEST creatures to hunt.

For example. Say for the listing ofTatooine Wooly Hide it would list some kind of Bantha (I assume) the info ont he creature and approximately how much it would give in resource. This way at a glace we can see that if the best wolly is tathooine, you go and get this type of bantha and you are gathering wolly at the most efficiant rate.

I guess the easiest way would be just to add that as a field in swcreatures .. which I will suggest there. Even though the amount you harvest appears to depend on factors beyond skill, it would be nice to know on average how much each creature gives.

well, as I stated above, the higher the Creature Level, the more you will harvest. So for example I need corellian avian meat. I check swgcraft and sort by planet. then anything listed on corellia that has avian meat I make note of; Spats, Rasps, and Gulginaws. then I look at these three species of creature to find the one that has the highest CL (listed as challenge level on the site). In this case it is the Greater Gulginaw at level 21. That is the creature that will yeild the most avian on that planet. Now, this doesn't give any info on what you'll actually harvest per kill but in a list it wouldn't do much good either because of un-accountable variables; wether you find a fat, medium or skinny spawn; and what the Ranger/Scout's harvest skill is.
