Yes, you heard me, Ranger Towns. Yet another possibility for the revamp.

I've seen some proposals floating around theranger forumregarding the desire for the ranger proffesionto have his own type of 'house',atype ofperma-camp that acts as a house for a ranger. (I'd give a clicky to the posts about this but I thelack the computer skills:smileytongue

Anyways

Anyways I started thinking and why not have ranger towns/camps or whatever you want to call them. They would be groups of ranger 'perma-camps'. There could be a central city hall type tent run by the mayor/camp leader (a Master Ranger), these camps would be similar to the camps that you see in the game Morrowind , if you've played it, I believe there the ashlander tribes? Also the city hall tent could heal battle fatigue over time or there could be an entertainer tent, this would help make ranger what it really is, a proffesion that can survive on its own for extended periods of time, and personably I hate have to run to coronet just to heal my battle fatigue. The towns would also be able to have an explorer mission terminal and a normal mission terminal.

As for where these citys could/would go, I think that they should have to be placed at least 4-5k meters from any NPC city and should have the ability to be placed on the adventure planets, with a 2-3 town limit on each planet.

Well now that i've said what I wanted to say... Any comments/ flames/ elaborations?

Thats the problem, if this happened alot of people might pickup ranger place one of these perma camps, then drop ranger which means they get a house on an adventure planet, like what happens with vendors

Well hopefully that will no longer be possible by the time the Ranger Revamp comes around, I've been a merchant on Naritus since almost launch and I those vendor exploiting *edits* better hope I neverfind themAnd you could only have a perma camp at master and would have to get the schematic from a quest, I dunno, I'd like to see more player traffic on Yavin though... Thanks for you opinion

If you could make it so the system does a check every week or so to make sure the owner is still a master, or frontiering 4 or what have you...then this would be great.

It is also another way of complimenting the masters who stick with a certain profession.

Make the perma-camp part costs insane tho. like 100k hide 80k bone 50k metal or something. Then allow entertainers to heal BF in them...

This seems like a pretty good idea, But you would probably have to have them away from a city to make sense, otherwise there'd just be some guy in the middle of a city with a tent, and that doesn't seem realistic to me.

Lol the ranger trainer in Coronet is in a "basic camp kit" . But ya, I think that goes without saying, as you'd be hard pressed to find any ranger in the middle of a city, let alone in a camp, and not running for the gates
