How do we know when a shift is coming? I know there must be indicators. Today on Yavin on Shadowfire the carni meat had shifted but nothing else that I could tell. Does that mean a shift is coming or does each resource shift seperately? LOL sorry for all the posts with questions but if I don't figure this out i'll go crazy.

There isnt anything to try and figure out. EVERY resource in game shifts independantly from the others on a 7-21 day timer, and even the timer is not guaranteed a we have had shifts that didnt last a dayand others that last past 21 days.

Try useing this website to keep track of what u want.

Again, I will take umbrage with the 7-21 day timer.

Talusian avian had 3 stats over 900 at server up on Monday (forget the date, not important anyhow). I had dropped a rasp that was bugging me and saw the stats and flipped out - I will be rich.

I harvested my azz off. If it flies, it dies (well, if it dropped avian). Rasps, fynocks, gulginaws, dead all over. I was a lean mean harvesting machine. I shot out a pistol in 4 hours.

Then RL intruded and I had to go. From 8-12 the avian was great. I log back on at2 -6 hours after server up - and the first rasp I drop is "sickly" -- rut to.

Stats went south. Nothing over 450/500. I leave, saying dirty words. It's now after dinner. I come back and in the course of wandering, drop another rasp. Yet another set of stats, midrange on the scale - 7s and 8s.

This was in the course of 10 hours, more or less. 7 days ?? try closer to 7 hours. No warnings.

Personally, I think the first avian was a boo-boo, the stats were all way too high, and once the "powers-that-wanna-be" saw it, they nerfed it. (Great stims and buffs tho). Then the 3d shift came when they saw the first change was a max-nerf and decided to split the difference.

Moral of the story - shifts come at the whims of some insanely simple and/or complicated formula. Check your favorite targets daily and when the harvesting is good, do it.

1) that i still don't know how to edit a post...sorry bout the double entry...

in the year i have played i have noticed that if you are lucky enough to be hunting before a shift, you will get

a "creature was scrawney" messege...

and also i have noticed many shifts occur around 3-5pm PST.

and one resource shift on one planet does not mean every resource shifted...nor does it mean all of that type shifted everywhere.

and cknarr Dath carn is uber now on shadowfire...btw are you in a guild? (insert shameless recruitment plug here)
