You have to be master scout to be a ranger.

exploration, trapping, hunting, and survival. oh, and the master skill box.

could be worse: you could have to add ranged support 4. oh, wait... then you might be a squad leader.

How many elite professions are there that require you to completely master a base profession, anyway? All I can think of are Ranger, Doctor, Combat Medic and Bounty Hunter. Commando? (Does Squad Leader require you to master Scout?)

No it doesnt. But Rangers are, and i know how we hate to think of ourselves this way, super scouts. All of our skill trees are extensions of the existing scout trees. There arent any tree's you could remove to lower point cost. And the bonuses at Master Scout, which is actually a decent bump over 4/4/4/4 scout, add to Rangers. Plus if you lowered the amount of points needed you would really encourage the tracker dabblers.

BH lost its master scout requirement because most of scout didnt apply to them. That doesnt apply to ranger. We dont need less points we need more skills.

I figured if any profession could take a joke, it might be a squad leader.
