Thread: Did SOE just bend over the Ranger Prof with the /findfriend command?

Just curious as now I can put anyone's name into my friend list, type /findfriend and I get a waypoint to their location. Unless there is some way for targets to block this, I think SOE just nerfed a bit of the Tracking 4 box.

You almost sound surprized.I have good money that says there's a betting pool at Sony to see How many Nerfs it will take before everyone leaves this profession.

If that is true, then it is a bug and should be submitted.

Findfriend ONLY WORKS FOR FRIENDS THAT HAVE YOU ON THEIR BUDDYLIST. It should not work or assist in finding a person who does not share you on their buddylist.

If you are finding people who do not have you on their list than that is definitely not working as intended.

but they have not yet made the /addFriend with a confermation. I think they should work on that

Does it matter?


If both people are not on one another's buddy lists - won't work.


In an unintended test - my friend saw me, tho I was on Talus and she was on Corellia. And unless she had asked me, she would not have known.


She started moving, and I could not "find" her until she stopped.


Ya wanna block someone, take em off your list.


Hold your friends close, but your enemies closer. Still need Rangers to find the Hero quest NPCs.

How can you use find friend to locate creatures, Bounty Hunters following the jedis, graul marauders, those random trainers. No it wasnt nerfed at all. Its a nice simple new command. Of course the smart BH's are realizing that most of the jedi have them listed on their friends lists. So instead of using tracking droids they can just use /findfriend.


Its a nice addition to the game and not a ranger nerf.

Down to one account and thats only because its a station pass
Currently a Droid Commander in City of Villians (really)

I am sorry about it. It was my understanding that they didn't need to have you on their list as well. From what I had been reading, it wasn't required.

No because it only works if the person you want to find has YOU in their friend list. Pretty sure most overts you are hunting and the NPCs don;t fall in this catagory
