A little while ago I dropped Master Swordsman and Picked up Master Rifleman in order to try out oneofthe new Harvesting Droids (Also because wookie hunting armour was costing me a fortune:smileysurprised

It has turned out to be a good decision, asthe droid is fantastic combined with rifleman. I just cam up, choose a comfy spot , lie down and blast away in total security, then send in my little metal companion to do the dirty work. With a 'bleep' it speeds off and does a wonderful job, even better than I do ( sounds almost like the perfect wife....and no lip even:smileyvery-happy

However recently my thoughts have turned back to 'reality' and I find myself asking the same question: "Once I get Force Sensitive Survival IV ( a long time off:smileytongue, will the creature harvesting bonus of +5 be better than what my droid can do, therefore making it redundant"?

Can anyone shed any enlightenment on this point?

Am sure I've got this wrong, but the way I understand it...

The harvesting modifier of your droid stacks with your existing harvesting abilities, up to a theoretical cap of something or other.

A Droid with +40 harvesting will add 40 to your baseline harvest success.

Veghash of, say, +20 will increase your harvest level again.

FS harvesting of +5 will increase your harvest rate by about the difference between (cant'check figures now as server is down, so hyperbole alert) say Scouts harvesting level I and level II.

If you have very little harvest skill it's an increase you might notice. If you're well up on ranger, it's probalby less of an increase than the variation in harvests granted by some poor veghash.

(Sorry, am I being increasingly negative and bitter these days? Apols if that's the case)

I don't know what harvest rating your droid is, but the +5 FS harvesting should stack with it.
With vegash, it should stack even more.

Here's an example that I think might be correct, but I'm really just making it up since I can't figure out the droid bonus formula. (Anyone feel free to correct me)

At master ranger +100 harvesting, with my 109 harvesting droid it seems to give me an extra 9%. So, if I harvest a creature that normally gives me 100 units of meat, using the droid should give me about 109. I'm not sure what the +5 FS bonus would give me, but if I used the droid, 9% would be added... and then stacked again with vegash.

Has anyone run the numbers on Veghash to see what sort of a boost they are actually getting?
I'm Master using +32.XX veghash, so getting a creature harvesting (CH) rating of 132.
However... I am noticing the same animals only giving about 15% more when using veghash than when it runs out.
Case in point, ATM hunting Snorbals on Lok Mature Females giving 126 hide at 132 CH and 107 hide at base line 100 CH. If the +32 is a 32% increase in skill as the modifiers appear to be I should be getting 139-140 hide.

My housemate is Tracking 4 and getting 106 hide at his 90 CH and 120 hide using +30.xx veghash for 120 CH. Something is weird here
