Not that this is news to any self respecting ranger...

To aide in getting my final level of Survival I picked up a crate of HTFBs and set up camp on a mesa just outside my guild's player city. With the new viewing distance enhancements, my camp was visible from town square. Within 5 minutes I had a packed camp with people ohhing and ahhing about all the "little" details inside the camp. To the best of my knowledge this was the largest single gathering of residents our town has ever had. People eventually wen back about their business but not before I picked up about 12k of XP. I probably could have gotten 20K or more but I felt guilty switching camps while everyone was gawking.

Enough stuck around that I was able to finish my level in well under a half hour.

It was nice seeing lots of people get introduced to a cool feature of the game they did not know existed. Between the camp and my terrain negotiation during guild hunts, I think I might be winning some converts over to the ways of the ranger.

(Many also have a hard time believing I almost exclusively go hunting without armor and without buffs. Only time I do use thoseis during guild hunts, I need it then as protection from my guild as they crash their way through the forest and aggro every heard of beast, and encampment of NPCs we come across.)

I can second that. First time I popped a HTFB outside of Coronet, I had about a dozen people stop by. Most had never seen one of these things before.

Of course, this had happened AFTER I'd finished up MR; where were all these people when I actually needed the camping xp's?

Yes, size does indeed matter. For that matter, unusual does pretty good too....
