Could some fine Ranger explain to me exactly what additional information you get from your addition creature knowledge skills now that wild pets no longer have resists or specials.

I am just curious. As Master Scout I see the CL and the Hide/Bone/Meat type information so I was just wondering now that they nerfed pets just what exactly you guys got more that I dont see.

Thanks

I wish I had a screenie to compare what I used to see with what I see now. Seems like a LOT less info, and one of the biggest benefits we got (seeing the CL) is now available to everyone. Thinking about it from last night's short playing, I don't think it showed if a creature deathblows anymore either...

Currently...

  1. Difficulty Level: which is not combat level

  2. Damage: which is not accurate

  3. Hide & Meat: both accurate

I think that's it for what I saw last night.

Didn't see the traditionals... just this stuff if I remember correctly. But for those that don't remember, there are many creatures that NEVER showed all the correct information so its hard to tell. Last night I was hunting Pikets and I think this is what I was seeing.

This is Pre CU creature knowledge modifier info.. It's actually still the same, except for the following changes:

No yes/no on deathblow
No resist info or armor rating (this was always available to all players, even without scout)
Ferocity (number level)

I can't remember if the special attacks, damage dealt and "base-to-hit" is still there.

I'm gonna /bug this next time I'm in game. I found deathblow yes/no pretty usefull at least.

Yeah I did too... But, isn't deathblow more of a random thing now, rather than creature specific? The new patch is somehow increasing creatures that deathblow. I'm not sure if those are creature types, or just higher percentage chances or what.

If deathblow is still creature specific, it definitely needs to be listed again in our info.

I think thiscovers everythingwe used to see, at least as Masters:

  • Armor Rating

  • Special protections

  • Effectiveness

  • Vulnerabilities

  • Aggressive (Y/N)

  • Stalker (Y/N)

  • Tamable (Y/N)

  • Hide Type

  • Meat Type

  • Deathblows (Y/N)

  • Ferocity (#)

  • Difficulty Level (# - isn't this what the CL is in the new system?)

  • Special Attacks (1 & 2)

  • Base To-Hit

  • Damage (range)

Obviously some of this simply isn't there in the new system any more (armor ratings, protections / effectiveness / vulnerabilities), but some of the other things I expected to see also were missing. When I get into the game tonight I'm going to compare this list to what I see now, and then /bug everything that seems to have gone missing.

Anyone else not digging the new auto db? A creature incaps you at range, and you're dead before you hit the ground, and long before any of your group members can come to your aid.
