Just tried to start scout again and get some trapping exp tried against level 1 or so creatures and getting 1 exp per trap per kill.... which is just a tad bit slowI see the only way to get exp is to kill same level or higher creatures as myself? but you get gain exp if the traps do not work, so im in a bit of a dilema? novice scout traps never ever work on high level creatures I can assure you
Have you checked this in the post CU game?

shame with that is you need to have Trapping III im talking from trapping I but thanks for the idea
Im hearing lots of troubles with traps sticking and a general problem with trapping progression as a whole.
What do you want to do about it?
What i had in mind:
The trapping mod could be changedin its purpose.Trapping mod could be changed intoan accuracy bonus (renamed thrown accuracy) rather than a'to stick' mod. This would mean traps would work justlike weapons and could be usedregardless of combat level and mob you are fighting against. This change would allow us to trap even the highest level creatures (just as we can shoot them). The higher level trappers would get a greater chance ofhitting the creature (more accurate) and also as they progress would get the option to make and use more and more exciting traps (post revamp this is heh).
Its not just traps, I wanted to get a few boxes in marksman. When the CU first went live I was level 57. With the starter gun of either - carbine or pistols, I went to Mos Espa and killed a few critters, getting 1 exp per kill? So from what I gathered assumed that this means we have to go hunt level 57's in my case to gain experience with your worst skill? I prefer the Pre CU way.
My idea a bit vague:
Say I have a character template IE Master Rifleman 4044 Scout some Bounty Hunter, and 4004 Marksman, I want to gain some experience in one of the skill boxes IE trapping in this case, so I would go trap low level critters for my experience instead of trying to kill something my level with to be fair master rifleman alone is pretty difficult at the moment from the bugs, I try with a carbine which I have 0 and get to use my Rifleman specials which in turn would take along time to kill a critter, and I have to tank it to throw traps at it? this seems like handing yourself over on a plate of death.
all in all we should not have 1 exp for things we kill below us, fix that you fix most of ^that^.
Not sure if thats a good idea or a aload of rubbish but thought I would give my opinion Thanks!

I thought you only had a level restriction on making the traps rather than using them, though you'll have better luck with traps your level or lower than you would higher.
I haven't tinkered with it enough to have too much constructive feedback, but I thought I should drop a note about my problems. I'll try and post more once I get back in-game.
