Thread: Give Ranger camps a Homing Beacon
How about we give Ranger camps a Homing Beacon that other playerscan pull up on their data pad and make a waypoint to? Lets says your deep in Lok and your party doesn't have a Ranger, it would be nice to be able to spot a Ranger camp if one is near you.
Now lets also make Ranger camps a place people really would want to spend some time in out in the wild.
This brings up a point I've been wondering about my camps. For a high quality camp it says it is more defensible against attacks. Well if this is so why do my camps get abandoned when a critter agros on me while I'm in them and I have to defend myself? What exactly is this benefit? Someone said that maybe Ranger camps should have a physical barrier value that has to be overcome by creature damage to attack the occupants. This would be similar to the "health/durability" score of a lair. I have noticed no real change in the "defensablility" of my Ranger camps compared to my Scout ones. Has anyone else noticed this? Also a Ranger friend of mine pointed out that there really is no distinction between a Ranger and a scout. Basically a Ranger just has fancier, more resource intesive camps, and from what I've noticed traps that seem in some cases to be inferior to the "lesser" scout's. I loved scout traps because they seemed tailor made to combo with the perfect scout weapon, a rifle. From what I've seen of the Ranger ones they seem not to compliment the other abilities I get, or have at all.
Just some thoughts.
I disagree to putting it in datapad and stuff.. But instead make it like this.
Whenever a RANGER sets up a camp(Notice the Ranger, not scout), make the camp have a glow over it..and appear on radar (Make it a green dot/glow/arrow..) and if you're within 500m of it.. you see the arrow pointing to it on your radar/screen.
The green would identify it as a ranger camp to prevent confusion, also.
