I just started using these camps (field base kits), and notice the ablility to pick up the data pad that you use to disband the camp, and it was in my inventory.

what purpose does this serve?

does it allow you, the camp owner, to leave the camp site without it being abandoned?

anyone have a clue?

Its a recent change made to ALL camps. We think it to be a bug since it wasn't mentioned in any patch notes and for the fact that anyone can pick these items up. Including the chairs. If they did mean to do it and just didn't mention it in a patch note I would assume its so the ranger/scout can leave their camp up a little while longer for people to use while he's leaving, and then he can manually disband it or check status while he's walking around.I hear the High tech field base kits pretty much stay up forever (or until the owner logs off), then I also hear they don't. But if they do then I can see this feature being very useful so you can check how many people are using it and disband it if you need to create another one elsewhere.
