Let me preface that I don't expect this as an addition. I just thought it might add a fun twist to the Ranger profession.
Once you get Frontiering 1, you get a "journal" in your inventory. It counts as 1 item and sits in a backpack or in your main area. As you hunt, kill and harvest animals, the book tracks the animals you killed, like a journal of the game you have killed.
If you open the journal, you can view the stats on the animals you have hunted for future reference. For example, I go out one day and kill a gnargalatch. Once I harvest the skins, it logs how many skins I took from it. If I harvest bone from another one, bones are logged in the journal. The only one I am missing is meat so I go hunting again.
Eventually, I can build a very helpful journal of what quality of bones and hides are available from a specific creature.
And it tracks it as I hunt, kill and harvest. When I am done with it, I can either sell it or trade it to another Ranger or keep it in a house I have on a desk or table as a momento.
Since we see (or are supposed to see) more information than any other class on a creature, it would be good to be able to use that somehow. If the journal listed out the attributes we learned, we could sell that as a type of "Intergalactic Encyclopedia".

Yes very nice. I'm already doing this on my own.. very tedious and changes with every resource shift.
