Thread: Do you believe that a Master Ranger/ Master Creature Handler Rifle Spec can solo?
How well do you ail believe a Ranger/CH/RifleSpec/Entertainer can solo in PvE & PvP? For I am almost Master Ranger and trying my hardest to make the Ranger class an outdoors type by picking skills that would best fit the 'IDEAL' Ranger type for me.

With Master Ranger and Rifleman you can solo extremely effectively. Whatever you gun you choose is just added damage. I was a rifleman at first, but then I realised my pets are pretty much tackling the health pool while Im trying to attack the mind pool. I ended up changing to pistols so thatI can use body shot and health shot to help my pets. Plus with the current bug where you have to be within 30 meters to get xp as a CH, pistols up close are more ideal as far as weapon ranges go.
Next big question: If I have a master ranger already do I need ANY combat skills other then the damage from the master CH pets?
You can do enough damage with master Creature Handler to be effective - and not just effective but great. However, things are changing with Creature Handler, and I imagine it will be delegated to the status of supplimental damage. Perhaps this question would be better mused in the CH forum.
As for rangers - rangers do no damage - so being half ranger is just as good as being half entertainer for soloability.
I'm a Master CH, Aspiring Master Ranger and a former Rifleman (decided to switch to Carbines last night). I must tell you that its a good combo. Because your pets don't generally do mind damage, and you do (Headshot/Mindshot), you get alot of XP even when you use the pets.

That's not true. In the Field Bioscience line we get "Creature to-hit Bonus", this makes my combat level go up. As Novice ranger lvl12 Creatures started conning white. At Bioscience-3, lvl15 creatures are white to me so we do get a little bit better in combat as we progress through the Ranger skills.
I haven't raised any of my Pistoleer skills in a long time and I'm still going up in levels.

While its true you'll get great xp as a Rifleman/CH combo because creatures don't generally attack the mind pool, that is also theproblem at the end. When the xp runs dry and Im fresh out skill points, I want to be able to move on to other things like extensive exploring and taking down big critters. I find pistols a much more effective compliment to CH since you are helping your pets tear down an opponets health pool rather then hitting separate pool all together.
I think a Ranger/CH combo is really awesome, Id recommend a weapon if you like, but you could go medic with yourremaining pointsand help heal your pets just the same. It's truly up to you. I only say weapons (ranged) so you can take advantage ofthose creatureto-hit bonuses you get as a Ranger and Scout. But you could do that with a CDEF too I suppose... (shrug)
