Thread: High-level ranger camps should allow a vendor

I'm not a ranger yet, but I'm almost there...anyhow, my dream is to build a high-tech field base somewhere on one of the "uninhabitable" planets (Endor, Dathomir, Yavin IV, and Lok) as a sort of rest and supply spot for adventurers. If I'm not mistaken, the high-tech field base doesn't disband unless you disband it yourself, or unless you get aggro'd (and hopefully they'll fix the spawning so red mobs won't be able to spawn near your high-tech field base). High-tech field bases already have the crafting stations, why not add the ability to place one vendor? That way, they might actually be more useful than they're currently are. Granted, not all Rangers want to be a businessperson, but I think this would be a great perk for those who work all the way up the tree.

What would a vendor do for a Ranger???

If you are an artisan as well you should be easily able to place a vendor in a house..having a vendor really isnt needed for us to sell hide, bone and meat.

I wouldnt think this is needed for us.

Poodoo.

Vendors in a camp is a bad idea.
I'd even vote for a bazaar terminal in a htfb before I'd vote for a vendor in it.

Are you trying to suggest that camps become perm? There are just too many issues with putting a vendor in a camp... it doesn't make much sense.

The point is that you can't build houses on those four planets I mentioned already (well, it was temporarily allowed but now this is fixed). It's not for selling hide, bones, and meat, it's for selling any adventuring supplies that people on those planets might need (weapons, stims, etc). Even if you have no artisan or crafting skills, you can charge rent and make some money. The idea wouldn't be to give the ranger automatically the ability to place the vendor; you would still need to get artisan skills if you wanted to place it yourself.

Rangers are for those that want to be out in the wild..they survive where others would not. They make the most out of the least.....they dont open up a sporting good store on Endor

I understand what you are saying by giving something to those on a planet that offers very little...but having an artisan sell their stuff in the outpost makes more sense to me. A Ranger is not meant to be someone to sell guns, clothing, and other accesories to those in the wild.
