It's come to my attention that we as Rangers are posting suggestions improperly...

If we have any suggestions pertaining to Scout skills we need to post them in the Scout forum.

So hmm.. lets see now....

/maskscent
Harvesting
Terrain Negotiation
Camping
Trapping

... are actually Scout skills... so if you want to make changes to them... go post your ideas in the Scout forum.

What does that leave Rangers with???

/rescue

Sorry thats all. If you want to suggest any changes to /rescue ... please do it here... otherwise for all other information, you'll have to go talk to the Scout correspondent because the Ranger dev only deals with /rescue.

Uhm... We post that stuff here because, as the profession stands. Ranger are nothing more then slightly buffed up scouts, that can make some very expensive camps that half the fuctions dont work.

He has a point. We have a chance to create what the Ranger class will become down the road. We should be focusing our efforts on that. Improvements to our basic skills are nice and all but we really need defining Ranger only skills developed.

It does seem that since we don't complain or whine or cry enough that our class is ignored the most. We should start posting our issues with the class in every class forum.

Xion,

Funny - I am constantly saying the same thing in the Scout forum...

"This is a Ranger issue...why don't you go over there?"

Rangers should get double resources harvesting at the top skill with that, I think. Same xp, sure.. but double resources.

Rangers should run faster than anyone else in the game.

Rangers Concealment should be put back in the game

Rangers should get a very noticable boost in healinga bilities of their camps from the top scout ones....They require metals..

Rescue should not be a sacrifice.. It should be made to lower the teammates aggro and boost yours by half what they lost..(IE, made up numbers here.. Teammate has 500 aggro.. you use Rescue..They go down to 200 Aggro, you go up by 150 aggro)

Traps should be useful for ranger lol This is a big one

You should get survival xp for crafting those top tents. Make it 20 xp for all I care. I'd rather get 20 xp off the bat for crafting it than nothing.

Xion, how can it be right to post about how certain skills affect rangers in a scout forum? Yes, the skills you listed start at Scout level but generally the issues you see here have to do with the advanced use of these skills.

/maskscent - No one in the scout forums wants to hear how your 135 camo skill is still being found out by yellow non-agro mobs. Scouts expect /maskscent to fail at a reasonable rate since the max they can get without powerups is +50.

Harvesting/CreatureKnowledge- Scouts are not interested in discussing the worth of advanced levels of creature knowledge or how many hides you should be getting at master hunter level. They assume rangers will gather more than they do since we've spent 20 more points than them to get better harvesting.

Terrain Negotiation - Try discussing crawl speed ehancements on a Scout forum and get prepared to get laughed out of town. They don't get that, remember?

Camping - Scouts have no interest in ranger camps and what crafting devices would/should be included with them nor do they care about camps repelling creatures. They don't get those camps.

Trapping - Oh yeah, we definitely want to go discuss our broken high level traps at the Scout forums. Traps that a Scout can't make. Good idea. :/

I understand you may be a pissed Ranger but next time you may want to think before you post. In general your posts have been much better than this one.

I forgot to mention that while I used a lot of "We/Us" and "They/Them" references in my previous post, remember that every ranger is a scout, a Master Scout in fact. So "They" are "Us" to a certain extent.Scout issues affect us as well. Just so you don't think there's a we vs them thing going on here.

Tsion:

My point being that it appears that the Scout developer supercedes the Ranger developer.... so in essence, if you want something change in "Trapping"... you have to see what's cooking for "Trapping" in scout before you can make a change in Ranger. It's just a cluster of insanity that they have two correspondents basically taking suggestions from the same people and trying to make sense of it... the only problem being, that the Scout dev can make some serious changes to our class and we'd never know what hit us...

Thats why I suggest we dump ALL suggestions having to do with what are in essence "scout skills" in the Scout forum so the Scout dev knows our gripes before he starts mucking with us blindly...
