Um, this one is going to be controversial, I just know it. I was thinking that the devs don't notice there are very few Master Rangers out there, I was wondering if they would take notice if there were suddenly none?
I'm suggesting that any Masters could drop their title for a day, clear the top box. Keep the rest of the tree, just don't be Master - then once there's NO Master Rangers, anywhere, maybe the devs might think there's an issue? We could post somethingon this forum, and any others that agree, to tell everyone. It's a quiet, peaceful protest - that won't crash servers like the wookie one.Probably wouldn't make a blind bit of difference, but I'm grasping at straws here.
I actually just had one other idea instead, but I can again see people not agreeing. People are complaining right now about high resource prices - how about we don't sell any for a while? We could still harvest and stockpile them, but try to leave the market bare. It would take a little while, a few days at the very least, but it would create much higher prices at least - which other professions would take notice of. Again, we could post to all of them and tell them we're doing it, maybe we wouldn't need to actually follow through with the whole thing - the threat of stuff doubling in price might be enough to cause a change?
I like the idea of the letterto other professions, maybe we could use this as a backup plan, a second letter -if they won't help out of the goodness of their hearts, maybe they'll help out of the depth of their greed?

No one would notice if all the Masters disappeared. The Devs actually have to go out of their way to get those stats (at least that's what they said when posting the Novice stats back in October or something like that). And the second plan won't make too much of a difference, either. We don't collect enough resources. Most crafters wouldn't even notice. Plus, it only ends up hurting others. That would only cause them toresent us. Threats are not how we should go about it. If it would actually make a difference, they would just claim that we don't really need the fix. If it doesn't make a difference, they won't notice anyway.

i dunno i mean all merchants could to the same and there is alot of them though it would be hard to organize.
i like the boycott on hides and stuff but people rely on that for money and i guarantee 100% of people wont do this plus not everyone checks these boards.
just my opinion, i want ranger fixed just as much as the next guy but i think we should just go about it exactly how TH said for us to. and if its busy work that means that they want to keep us busy for an ultimate result hopefully a fix. that being the case just stick with it i say

I doubt the Devs track that sort of thing on a daily basis. Even if they did, what would they think when everyone retrained the next day? "Boy, we just got 300 new Master Rangers...things must be going great for them!"

Right,
this, like the other proposals, like striking may merely backfire on us. Plus, there is no way without really digging into the stats to determine the several holo-grinders who master our beloved profession then quickly drop it.
The outlying data like this would really skew the stats and make dropping master kind of useless. Then we would have to gather app xp again just to re-master it.
