Iam trying to hunt for a friend that is trying to grind BE. He needs a lot of meat to get through the crafting tree of the profession. It can be any kind of meat, so I'm trying to figure out which creatures drop the largest amounts of meat that are not extremely difficult to kill so I can go through them fast. I was thinking about voritors or pikets on Dantooine, maybe enraged rancors. If anybody who is a little more experienced at the ranger profession could give me some ideas on what creatures have a little more meat on their bones that I could harvest, I'd appreciate it. I think he needs like 80K meat so it's a ton. I have been leveling Ranger on Endor, but the mobs there are usually insects like the mereks and arachne and they don't have a lot of meat.

If efficiency is the goal, and quality doesn't matter, then clearly you want to do what everyone else does. Go to the northern outpost on Dathomir yell "looking for rancor group plz" and join one of those big mindless groups. Not much fun, not much challenge, lots of annoying 12 year olds, but eat some vegash and harvest like crazy and you'll have your grinding meat.

Well, you need something that you can kill quickly. The usual answer to this is to find Rancors. If you can solo rancors without too much trouble (i.e. you are a master of a combat profession) then that is probably a good bet for you. If you can find a few friends to go with you it will probably go faster (3 people can kill at a high enough rate to offset the 60% harvesting rate and it is even better if they take up scout as well). Just go out and find wild rancor lairs.

Just the other night I was able to harvest 10k Rancor meat in about an hour. I was grouped and using Veghash.

As a Blademaster I can easliy solo lairs on Yavin 4 with buffs and brandy. I grab 2 Kliknik lairs and head out...killing everything in sight that drops Carnivore meat. Crystal snakes, bats, and sintarils (sp?), as well as the Klikniks. I area track after each lair and kill everything that pops up then head back for more missions, I harvested over 30k of Carnivore meat in 2 play sessions....ap. 3 hours each. Hope that helps.

Instead of Voritor or Pickets on Dantooine try Savage Quenkers. They are easier to kill but still have a decent amount of meat on them. You can get Savage Quenker missions at the mining outpost to ensure a constant supply of the creature and as a bonus the missions pay about 6900cr each. No, they don't have near as much meat as you will get on a Rancor but the Quenker is something that you can solo easliy.
