I recently looked into aquiring some force crystals to see what they looked like, I had heard alot of people harking on about them on the trade forums.. Only when I started to look at actual screenshots of the crystals did I realise I have had one since I first started the game, and I got it when I was a novice scout with marksman skills nothing more.. I tried to remember back to where I got it so I could go and try to get more the 'easy' way, it hit me while I was stood fishing at the base of a waterfall. I had snagged my line on something and reeled in a force crystal.. I'm not going to say where I was when I got it in case it is something secret (heh, doubt it) but I do remember and it seems to make sense.

Anyone else noticed that you can get force crystals like this, did a search for "force crystal fishing snag line" and nothing ?. I really hadn't noticed what I had until a few days ago, and never seen anyone post about this before. OR is what I picked up not a force crystal.. Sure looked like one to me, blue crystal in a circular grey piece of rock, but I don't want to log and check the 'weapon component' in the stats window while I'm on the way to maxing dancing with my other guy (**edit**).. If no-one knows I will check and bump this with varification.

I have a 22% fishing pole I crafted myself and have done alot of fishing but I have never caught anything but fish, not even a rusty dagger.

I caught the Eyes of Mesra while fishing in front of my PA one day.

Also, I have 3 double and one single crystal. Go to Tyrena, east side, there is a spawn of Meatlumps to the southeast who drop crystals, but slowly. I go there to camo the campers so they don't get aggro'd.

Ok thanks for all the info to date , It's more fishing feedback than I hoped for to be honest as it seems not many people enjoy it (understandably).

Did you get those crystals from fishing ? If so its more frequent than I thought, I still need to catch something other than a fish since my first post but my rods are high 90's at the moment and it seems to keep with what was said about high rods only giving out fish.. If I remeber right I had a lower rod than 22% , I just bought it of the baz for 20creds at Theed and went to the base of the POI waterfall to see what I could catch.

Side note : Don't you love it how people put things on sale for 20c on the baz ?

I do fish in the wrong places too , I fish in areas with minimum fish and maximum vegitation around the bottom of waterfalls and things so I don't know if that makes a real difference but I expect it will.. It only took me a couple of attempts to snag that crystal if I remember rightly.

Ok, lets see if I can con my boss into giving me the rest of the week off to go fishing, I can safely say this is the first time I have tried requesting holidays to go on an inter-galactic fishing trip..

I'll let you know what I pull up from the reeds as soon as I find a really, really bad rod and some stinking chum bait.

Right, just thought I would bump this up in case anyone wanted to offer up a list of things they have fished and let you know what I've heard about the whole thing to date because I still can't varify if you can actually pull out a force crystal, although I have done it myself andI think I'm the only one... Or I was drunk and got it somewhere else..

- The thing which I had on my table from about day one IS a weapon component crystal and I had this varified.
- Fishing with a low end rod (my current is 11%) does seem to get you more line snags and less fish.
- Fishing last night at the base of Theed waterfall with 0*veg means I didn't pull the crystal from there.
- So far I haven't looted anything with my 11% or 92% rod since I got this crystal but have hooked a couple of tiddlers on naboo and dantooine.
- Intergalactic fishing does not qualify as a reason for time off work much to my disappointment.

So far I haven't looted anything new , and I had another guy there (the one who made the rods) helping me out testing this last night.. We were fishing in ***veg *fish and there were snags going on left right and centre but nothing got reeled in but fish.

I've told a couple of people on a few different servers about this , no point in keeping it to myself , I just hope it doesn't turn out a night on the pop has made me post a total I caught a fish <--------this big--------> story here and you can actually hook things with your rod.

What I want to know from you guys now is do you know many places where people shouldn't fish, the worst spots for fishing in the galaxy ?.. I will continue my search for the worst location (hmmmz at tatooine then thinks again) but if you could offer up some real stinkers to help me on my way it would be appreciated.. So far there is only me and JB who have fessed up to reeling something in , who else has done this and got something , anything , from the watery depths ? So far everyone who I talked to in game hasn't even snagged a line and it seems that everyone does use the best high end rods...

So come on , what trash did you pull out of the water and where ?

Fishing spots change. So you won't find one worst spot that will always be the worst. But I have once reeled in a pair of shoes. Then I upgraded to a better rod and never caught anything but fish. As for Tatooine, there are actually fishing spots there. Just zoom in the map and look for the blue dots. Just get someone to make you a 1% rod or something similar and go look around for a 5* veg, 0* fish spot or something close to it. You seem to be onto something, though.
