I have a question for my fellow Rangers.

Does cammo kits work like Mask scent and will worn out after time? And how do you know when it worn off?

I don't remenber having seen a message in game when that happens.

When you camo the mask scent log comes up on your ham bar (same as it does with /mask)

Lasts much longer than camo but depends on kit quality.

Although it wont be often they wear out, they will most likely fail before the run out

Owen, kits don't have quality, only a number of charges.

Your skill is all that determines the camo's effectiveness, which means at lower skill levels maskscent is more effective against creatures. At least as a Bothan (if you are one in game as well), you get a +15 bonus.

Against NPCs it will be more effective, however your milage may vary due to existing bugs.

When kits were first getting implemented i remember a dev saying the duration and charges depend on quality of resources used and level of ranger using them. Up to 25 minutes at master ranger (ive had camo work for longer than that). Perhaps this has changed or simply the duration isnt shown.

It has changed. There is no difference in the camo, only# of uses andwhich ones you are allowed to craft... and it's 30 minutes unless it breaks. Your skill determins the chance to break, nothing else.

On theme, for a change.

Do we still get XP if we apply camo to others, who then wander around camo'd. Just wondering, if so - free camo on Dath to go to the village, courtesy your friendly neighborhood Ranger.

I believe so yes, but you need to be within a certain range to get it. Havnt tested the ranges though.

However do know range depends on it. I have sat in dath giving out free dath camo (i felt charitable) and the only xp i got was when i went out later with my hunting group (in range of them i supose).

The hundreds of others i camo'd that day gave me only slight xp now and then.

Yes, you do still get XP from camoing other people, and no, there is no distance limit. I've been going to Aurillia and camo'ing everyone in sight. Then when all those people go out to do their patrols and pass hoardes of aggro Sith Shadows, the XP just starts rolling in. Sometimes up to 2k per minute! I've even left the planet completely to go home to Corellia and the XP still keeps rolling in.

Heh, I made a factory run of Camo kits the other day, so I now have 700 Dath camo uses in my inventory in 4 tiny little boxes !

There is certainly some mechinism that prevents you from gaining xp from someone the other side of the planet, i have tested this with friends. There has been times where i have been at the other side of the planet hunting and talking to my friend who was walking by reptilian flyers etc. I would recieve no exp. However when i first applied it and was sat in the outpost (smuggler outpost, endor) he was out nearby and i was getting xp.

Perhaps its not a short distance thing but more like when you get over a long distance but there is definatly something preventing me getting xp in some instances.

I have noticed that I get less XP when camo'ed than when masked? Anyone else notice that?

Dunno bout the distance thing. I got XP on Corellia, and the people (noobs) I camo'd were on Tatooine.

And why for do kreetles give decent xp when you shoot their ugly lil selves? I was on a kreetle wasting binge earlier. Talk about easy xp.

Rasps do the same. I think it is related to the breaking camo bug. The mobs that do it most often don't seem to lose their xp value as you get higher in a combat profession.
