Very simple question, and im in no way asking if droids are better than master ranger.
At Novice Scout you have +15 Creature Harvesting.
At Novice Rangeryou have+55 Creature Harvesting.
If a Novice Scout uses a +40 Creature harvesting Droid, is that the same as a Novice Ranger +55? Does the "+40 Creature Harvesting" droid add points to the +creature harvesting skill just like raising up to ranger?
*NOTE - I am not comparing veghash to droids*

Droids are a percantage not a base number. Veghas is a straight addition and yes it is like you describe. And no droids dont double your harvest. They add just a little but automate the procedure. ANd yes its all stackable.

So what you are saying here is that a Droid that gives+40 Creature Harvesting is not the same as getting +40 Creature Harvesting by going up the skill tree? (The question im asking)

Droids to not add any bonus to your harvesting skill. Theyjust get a bit of extra resources when you use them to harvest. This extra bonus is based on the quality of the droid. If the droid is not very good, you can take a penalty to your harvest amount. But the main consideration for the amount you harvest is your harvesting mod (gained from the Scout and Ranger skill trees).

I believe that if you have a harvesting droid with a creature harvest ratingof 80 -100 (its a rating, not a skill mod) then it will harvest approximately the same as you will without the droid. Above 80-100 the droid will harvest slightly more than you and below 80-100 the droid will harvest less than you. I don't think its a direct percentage though. I used to havea droid with a harvest rating of 27 and it harvested about 10-20% less than me. My current droid has a rating of 106 and it harvests 5-10% better than me.

At Master Ranger,a 98 droid will increase your harvest by a small amount, 1-3% or so. Too much trouble for run of the mill harvesting, but for stuff that's 50-100 cpu, it can be nice. It also has the benefit that it can harvest while you're still in combat--a good thing if you're grouped with others who're harvesting while you're still fighting. (Corpses rot quickly once looted and harvested, even if not completely harvested.)
At MR, a 119 droid will give you a more noticable bonus; I use mine for hunting anytime I'm specifically seeking resources and not in a real fast-moving situation. Last night, my 119 plus 32% veghash was giving me an 18% bonus or better--definitely worth it, especially on pricey organics. (I was gathering 100 cpu stuff.)
If you're serious about it, get an R3 stacked with nothing but harvesting bonuses. Made with good materials by a good droidsmith, you can get into that 100 range easily with it. I don't know if the 119's are even buildable anymore, but I paid 130k for mine, and it's already paid itself off and then some.
