After much deliberation from this Shadowfire master pikeman, I have decided to go Ranger..

It is possibly the most coolest, under used profession in the game.

Any advice?

We are honored by your presence

Slowly we are becoming the newest FOTM profession. Its rather odd. But read the stickies and make sure that you want these skills and the point cost associated.

Canon Fodder - The former Ranger/CH now unplayed Smuggler
Down to one account and thats only because its a station pass
Currently a Droid Commander in City of Villians (really)

First off, Welcome to the Ranger forums.

Second, Welcome to the Ranger lifestyle

The most important thing you must realize is that to be a ranger you must do one VERY important thing......Have fun

If you want to be Uber, Ranger isn't for you.

Ranger is a playstyle of almost casualness in its gaining of skills and hunting.

We have a ton of threads with info for you to read, but if you EVER need a specific answer, just ask, someone will surely answer you.

Congrats... and as a pikeman ranger... you will find that master pike is the sexiest profession ever!

You will look good with several dead critters at your feet

I loved it when we had a Pikeman in our guild. All I did was run around and harvest the piles of bodies... A Ranger/Pikeman - even better!

ranger/pike, good, ranger/rifle: BETTER

im partial to the rifleman profession. it takes FOREVER to master, but once you do, world, watch out.

Welcome. I recommend you just take it slow and enjoy the profession. If you go too fast, you will only have the title. A lot of a Ranger's skill is gained from just playing as a Ranger. Oh, and go out and explore.
