I'm a new Ranger, and I just wanted to know what is the best way to grind camping for Master Ranger.
Thanks,

The first way: Read the faq stickied up at the top of the forums... it will let you know how much hide/ bone/ metal you will need to grind craft through ranger.
The second way: Use camps when hunting, if you need heals, or a rest/ regroup, pop a camp.
Its slow and tedious, theres no way to avoid that, but having fun while you do it is priceless.
(there is no afk macro for camping btw)

Actually there is no AFK macro for disbanding a camp. Check the PSA in the scout for much more on that topic.
Now if your good you can camp, fish, and craft camps at the same time. And finish the FS survival tree in 168 days

MACROS ARE FOR MORONS
too late, you didn't run fast enough
Get a real hunting group, try noobs on Tat. Get about 5 or 6 who need XP like you do. Go hunting. Pop a camp so the docs there can heal people - they are too poor to afford droids. Do this every mission set and before ya know it, you are maxed in camping.
Of course, if you are grinding it in the hopes you will be done by tomorrow's patch, you are SOL. Unless you stay up all nite and power camp. Which is about as dumb as paying $3000 for a jedi account. And yes, that has been done.

I found the best way to gain your camping exp is to set up camp right outside a major city. Put one down as soon as the zoning let's you. I miss the day grinding camping. I met so many people and had so many great conversations. When I actually finished with the frontiering tree, and moved on, I started getting tells from people that frequented my camps asking me where I went to. But there is no trick to grinding it faster. I do have a macro. I can't remember the sytax exatly, been so long, but you fill up your hot keys with premade camps. You have your macro pick the hotkey. This makes a camp go down. Then you pause for like 1800 seconds. This will be about 20 minutes. Then you perform an action like foragaing or something. This will keep you from being logged off. Then pause another 1800 seconds. Perform another action. Then pause for another 1800 seconds. By this time your camp should have disappeared. It had outlasted it's usefulness and you have recieve you max exp for it. Even if noone visits it. Then have your macro access the next camp in you hot keys. Rinse & repeat. Makes a really long macro. I strung 10 together once and let it go while I was a work. I only used it that one time but I actually perfered to interact with people that came running through my camps then macroing it.

Group with me, JB. You're almost as grumpy as I am and we could form a little bitter nucleus of barbed spittle raging against the macro-gonks of the world.
Course, we pale in insignificance before the venomous bile sac that is Fred...

When I was leveling that tree ... way way back when - lol ... I found it great to have survey skills. I would survey for a good yield site of a good resource. I then popped a tent right on top of the survey max spot and sampled for resources ... healing my action when it got low .. this helped raise the xp. Another thing some friends and I did was ... I would put up a tent as close to a mission nest as I could get ... I would stay masked/camoed while my friends pulled the creatures right next to the camp and killed them, so I could harvest and heal them without leaving camp ... as long as you do not join in the fight, the camp will stay up. That way I got camping xp (which went more quickly from healing them) and scout xp from the harvest. Good luck to you ...

I agree with JB not to macro, but you can manually craft camps while tending your camps with hunting parties and still be just as dedicated in my opinion. Its not bad really, I crafted camps without a macro while camping while never going AFK and met a lot of people who I now hang with, especially rangers and scouts. Think of it as a way to prepare you for the ranger lifestyle.
hold on... did I just agree with JB?
