Hi All thanks for answering the in advance, I posted a question last night and well I think I did not make myself clear on what I wanted to know, so lets me try again.. I am wondering when you get to say Pistols 4 in the marksman tree and I decide that I want to go pistoleer so I train Pistoleer Novice and then to be effective do I have to train up all 4 trees or can I train up 1 or 2 of them of the things I want and save the skill points for either tradeskills or another weapon style ? say fencer or even Droid Enginnering, I keep hearing that things both ways so people say you must master all 4 trees to be able to hold your own and others say its ok to mix and match say for instance I heard one TKA say he is 1/3/4/3 TKA and then a Fencer 1/1/2/2 and it works great ( this was used as a example ) The reason I am asking is I want to preserve some of my tradeskills but also be able to mix it up alittle, I sorry to ask such a newbie question, thanks for your time

Supergoop,

It really depends on what you want to do.

To get the most out of any weapon though you really need to master it... if you just want a weapon for defensive purposes then one tree will help but won't win you any wars.

Check out a char builder and see what your options are. This one clicky gives you a complete breakdown of all the stats you get when you're done with a template.
