Hello my fellow Master Rangers,

My name is Donta Besler and I've just become a Master Ranger on the Valcyn server. My templete is TKM, Master Ranger, and Medic 1,0,0,0. From novice ranger to Master Ranger I spent all my time on Dath, hunting Rancors and the rest of my time outside of the player city I live in Valshara in Naboo grinding out my camping skills. So I do not know alot about PvE when it comes to animals, just NPC's and what they drop. So I have Many question on what I should start doing as a Master Ranger. Here are some of my questions;

1. Is my templete good for PvE hunting?

2. What are camo kits really good for?

3. Is there a way for a Master Ranger to hide from NPC's?

4. What is the best animal to hunt for grinding meat, hide, and bones? ( To sell to people. )

5. Is there a place where I can find out what animal drops what, and how much? ( As far as meat, hide, and bone types. )

6. Is there a chat room on Valcyn that is for Rangers, so you can talk to eachother in game on what is dropping good stuff?

7. Is there a market for a Ranger to take out poeple to hunt for stuff? ( I.E. krayt and kimo hunting. )

8. By planet what is the best things to hunt for?

If any of you Master Rangers out there could help meout with thisI would be forever in your debt. Don't think of me as an a$$hole for asking this things,I've just alwaysthought it's better to ask the people who know alot about something if you don't know $hit at all about it yourself.

Thanks for your help,

Congrats on getting master - I guess you felt that you had to grind it, but if you hadn't I imagine you wouldn't be asking half of these questions....

1. Is my templete good for PvE hunting?

Yes very - you can heal wounds and disease in the field - very useful

3. Is there a way for a Master Ranger to hide from NPC's?

Yep - stay 500m away from them, and they'll never see you

4. What is the best animal to hunt for grinding meat, hide, and bones? ( To sell to people. )

Rancors

5. Is there a place where I can find out what animal drops what, and how much? ( As far as meat, hide, and bone types. )

www.swgcreatures.com

7. Is there a market for a Ranger to take out poeple to hunt for stuff? ( I.E. krayt and kimo hunting. )

Yep - leave your master tag up and you should start recieving "D0od W1ll U TR@K 4 M3" tells within an hour.

Congrats on mastering!

1. Is my templete good for PvE hunting? Very good, you are fast, strong and able to withstand a lot of damage (most creatures are melee). The only drawback is a lack of damage types, but when I was a TKM, I never had problems killing the things that i was supposed to (Albatross are 100% kinetic resistant, but sinceI am not supposed to kill one, I don't care).

2. What are camo kits really good for? Using up resources...really, I don't use them, but other that do are probably better suited to answer you .

3. Is there a way for a Master Ranger to hide from NPC's? Well, Camo, theorhetically...it doesn't seem to work on ALL NPCs anymore, but it it seems to on Factional NPCs.

4. What is the best animal to hunt for grinding meat, hide, and bones? ( To sell to people. ) Depends on what resources people need. Hunting Rancor will give you a really good harvest per time ratio, but herb meat seems to be the biggest seller. My advice to to look at your Galaxy's Trade Forum to see what people are looking for, and if that fails, you can see what resources are in spawn, by server, at swgcraft.com.

5. Is there a place where I can find out what animal drops what, and how much? ( As far as meat, hide, and bone types. ) Do an advanced search at swgcreatures.com. The list will give you a Creature Level for all creatures and the higer the number, the more resources. There is no place that gives actual harvest numbers becuase it is different for everyone (leezard bonus, veghash, harvesting droids, etc. all vary).

6. Is there a chat room on Valcyn that is for Rangers, so you can talk to eachother in game on what is dropping good stuff? Your best bet is try joining the RIN chat channel (type /chat join RIN), if it exists; otherwise you are on your own for finding such a channel.

7. Is there a market for a Ranger to take out poeple to hunt for stuff? ( I.E. krayt and kimo hunting. ) Our Tracking skills will always be in demand for the rare stuff (kimo, gorax, Black Sun, Hermit Quests). There are a few threads on this forum that talk about tracking for money.

8. By planet what is the best things to hunt for? Again, it is dependant on what resources people need.

If any of you Master Rangers out there could help meout with thisI would be forever in your debt. Don't think of me as an a$$hole for asking this things,I've just alwaysthought it's better to ask the people who know alot about something if you don't know $hit at all about it yourself.

It is always OK to ask questions unless the question is about AFK Camping, or the Garment Whose Name I Will Not Utter.

Congrats on Mastering.

As for camo, I find that it works better than maskscent and usually protects me against NPCs. It's far from perfect but it can help (for example, it lets you do the FS quest for scout skills without firing a shot). You will want +camo clothing, though.

Is it true that higher the animal level the more it drops? (I.E. meat, bone, and hide?

Yes. CL level determines the amount of organics you get. Reference www.swgcreatures.com for creature levels. Or once you hit master scout you'll see there CL or Diffuculty levels.

It is indeed true, but keep in mind that larger size does not mean larger CL (and therefore does not mean larger harvest).

Also, in the time it takes you to drop a, say CL100, I could have dropped a dozen CL20. Chances are, I'll have taken fewer wounds and hervested more.

Pick your fights.
