of pure simplistic joy ... of rememberance of why I have chosen to make my home what it was ... of overwhelming awe at the beauty of cities that I had only glympsed in passing.

Today I descided to try something new ... go HUD-less. (that's the Ctrl+shift+H if you are wondering what I am talking about)

I turned the sound down, put on some very nice classical choral music (my preference), and turned off the hud. On a speeder I glided through Theed, and for the second time I was astonished at the beauty of this old standard. The music weaved and so did I, now actually making an effort not to go through people and not following paths that are designated by my target on the map or by some arrow on my compass.

Eagerly I went and did the Keren Race again. What a difference. A new level of excitement.

Then the real test. I returned to my home of Endor. In the full glory of the Forrest Moon's Night Sky, I rode my bike along the rivers, taking a river tour of my old haunts that I rarely visit any more as I slave away in preparation for the Starships.

Then it happened ... Barber's "Agnus Dae" came on ... and I was crusing up the river with the trees passing by and Endor facing me in all it's glory, such a presence among the stars. I looked up to see the trees towering along side me as I traveled, looking up into that perfect night sky. Now I remember ... now I know why I have spent over a year on this planet, only leaving if absolutely necessary. Now I remember why I fell for this game in the first place, and why Ranger is the only thing that I can truely be.

If you have already done this, or you do it often as I most certainly will from now on ... then you know what I am talking about. If it isn't your thing then *shrug* it isn't you thing. But to those who have not tried this ... and are getting a lottle long in the tooth *grin* and tired of the same old stuff... give this a try.

Go visit your favorite spots without all that bothersome chat and reticals and radars and what not. See if you can remember ... remember the movie you made in your own mind of your Ranger .... and watch as it unfolds before you.

*smile* Or not.

I was really impressed. Your own theme music highly recommended.

I do that alot on Lok. I'll just set my bike up at one point and ride for awhile. Turning the hud off is a neat little feature, especially for those neat as$ screen shots you can get. Especially of Dathomir at night with the Moon right in your face. Its pretty awesome. Cept classical choral isn't all my thing atleast not since my music appreciate class .... Listen to a song called Nymphetamine riding along the edges of a mountian on Lok at night watching the stars watching you is neat.
