Let's say that you could put any item, or type of item,on the Forage Loot table. What would you put there and why?


Just cause I'm bored...

Animal Skulls - based on planets and areas on the planet Rangers could harvest a skull belonging to some of the different creatures that populate those worlds. Ideal for a trophy case.

Well basically the same as the animal skull idea, I would want decorative hides that I could hang up on my wall or use as a carpet. Just imagine a nice fluffy Bantha rug.

Um... krayt loot, acklay bones, 1k of tat avian meat, 1 meeeeeelion credits

Actually the medicinal stuff from before would be nice. Small BE like enhancements for chefs would work as well.

Actually that is a really cool idea. Rangers should have draft schems for decorative rugs and wall mounts that require particular resources from the creatures they are making a rug or whatnot from.

I think there should be a series of natural items which counteract the negative effects of general adventuring. These don't have to be permanent, could be temporary, and have side effects ..... many drugs occur naturally too.

e.g.

natural poison antidotes
natural coagualants to slow/stop bleeding
natural immune system enhancers to reduce the duration of a disease

and possibly more controversially :

natural "spices" which are obviously less effective than the laboratory created Smuggler ones, but can give you brief boosts to certain stats. I'm thinking along the lines of naturally occuring coca leaves in real life which can be chewed to releive tiredness and hunger and keep you going unnaturally. The positive and negative effects would be much less intense but generally last much longer than lab produced drugs.
I guess if you really wanted to you could catch a toad and lick its back for a surreal trip ....

Rangers should get an ability to gather components from creatures with /forage. Then these components, much like loot kit items, form a random amount of usable organic components (BE tissues, Krayt tissues, armor segs and hide, etc.) These "crafted" components still retain a chance for advanced, exceptional, or legendary status/mods.

Iwould also add wound auto healing enhancers (doubles camp auto-healing effect)

Rare loots:

- Pearls

- Crystals

- Attachments

- Tropheys (none tradable)

- Very rare components that are needed in a certain phase of the ranger hunting lodge schematic


On the hunting lodge: I just think that getting the hunting lodge should be very hard and involve the ranger having to use his/her ranger skills to prove themselves in some was as a good hunter/survivalist. Perhaps we would need to prove ourselve in certain areas such as:


- TRACKING: Having to locate and talk to a certain randomly spawning npc (a la moisture farmer), this would mean using tracking skills. Once you have found this guy, you would be able to progress in the quests by being given access to talk to a certain hunter npc in a cantina who would be your quest giver for the next part.

- HUNTING: Having tohunt down the materials and craftcamo kitsof various planets, this wouldplay to our hunting, camo, harvestingand crafting traits, it could also be expanded to include camps and traps.Some nice quests could be placed here that require you to kill a certain rare creature (the fabled vampire squall of rori for instance hehe).

- WAYFARING: You get given a set of quests that require you to visit certain pois (not badge giving or waypointed). You would need to know/learn the land to find these places and doing so moves you onto the next section.

- SURVIVAL: You would need to travel the planets and locate rare zones that allow you to forage a certain rare item. You would need to find one of these zones and forage the item in question on each of the ten planets to progress.


Doing thesequests,would basicallymake you dothings to get components that an architect would need to make the ranger hunting lodge or perhaps even just give us the cert for the lodge (would need to be master ranger to start the quests in this case).


It would be something to be proud of and allow rangers to express themselves in how and where they live.
