Thread: Camo and imp crackdown scans question

Hi all!
Something "weird" happened to me the other day.
I was hunting on Yavin, and all of a sudden a probot lands with a nice little bang right next to me. It proceedes with its scan as it always does.
What surprised me was that it just gave me the system message that says that no contraband was found. I was both equiped with and carrying sliced items in my inv, and I had spice in my inv. I searched a bit and found this. And as I've aways had to cough up cash when scanned before I thought maybe the camo had something to do with it (hoping might be a better word...)? Or is it just that scans sometimes don't find your contraband, and me thinking this was weird is just because I've been unlucky with the scans before? I have searched the forums and it seems it is alot of randomness to the scans but can someone confirm how it works? (FYI I was buffed, and I'm neutral)

Its a random roll whether it will find anything. And next if your imperial rank is high enough it will never find anything on you.

yeah...random with me at a "5" on contraband scans and a 1 or below being "detected"
stupid probots......

I always pass the scans as I am Lieutenant Colonel in the imp ranks. I can now do a /punch or /slap on the stormtroopers and other imp npcs and they say something like "aye our actions were inexcusable" or "please forgive us it will not happen again".

Always polite I am. Nice Mr Stormy scans me, I smile and wish him a good day, snap off a crisp salute... 9/10 they say I'm clear and go about their business. The other time? Well, /burstRun is your friend. (though it usually ends up with one or more of us dead in the dirt).

Thanks for the confirmation. I've just never passed a scan before then, bad luck or reckless use of contraband I guess

I sometimes get scanned overt even without any contraband. Oh, the woes of serving the Rebellion.

I'm imperial and I get scanned camo'd or not.
In my dark days as a rebel
I would sometimes pass the scan, and other times fail it, but I always had sliced weapons or armor on me. Camo never seemed to have an affect on passing the scan or being sought out by the probot.
I always loved the probots when I was a rebel. Unfortunately now they're just an annoyance, since /slapping them doesn't have an effect. Can't make a probot cry and ask for forgiveness like I can the stormtroopers.

I used to pass the scans quite frequently (even though I used to carry 6 sliced pistols at all times!)...
Now that I'm a 2nd Lt in the rebellion, it seems that ALL of my scans turn me Overt.
Since I'm in the midst of a Profession change (MPistoleer to MRifleman) I usually just run like mad!

i have never gotten caught when i get scanned, and i carry 6 sliced carbines and 2 sets of fully sliced armor and a couple crates of spice..... and i'm a rebel.... dumb imps aren't very good at their job lol.
