ok recently in the week an unbuffed thread got started, and it got me interested in trying it for once.

I am currently at 2/1/4/3 in ranger and 2/4/4/3 for swordsman. By using CoB for defenses without any armor, the fight against a lvl27-29ish creature doesnt go too bad, i use the twohandedsword for this, cause the hammer unbuffed is just too risky IMO.

foods:gamorl/accaragm/ahrisa

results:cob even though i dont have the master amount yet, protects me pretty well, but after the fight is over, i have 3/4 health left

it would look like this

my question is this, is this normal for someone at my combat lvl? just want to find out if im doing this correctly.

Yes thats normal for me as well. Although taking on a skreeg lair has left me really close to incapped. Also i started to add vegesparine to my diet as well. This adds, BE made at least, around 23 to melee def for 17 minutes(results may vary). When i was using it with my BE clothing I had gotten my melee def up to 133. After i master ranger that will be 143. Since its food i can use it to go over the cap. And i found that i could go withour armor fighitng tybis's and Skreeg's while using it.

But im also a master fencer versus your sword which means i have higher defenses. So it makes my chances a little better but your definatly hitting harder. If you have a guild weaponsmith or one you like to deal with. You might want to see about asking them to go for max on lowered HAM costs (this is more a matter of having the right materials) so you can do your specials more often.

That is what mine looks like alot of the time. One of the things i actually avoid is specials. With the AP of all the swordsmen weapons, i have found that i really don't need the specials. The only time i have used them lately, it was against birds , since they have a tendency to fly off. Once i would get the birds down to about 1/10 their ham bar, just smack em with a Hit3, dead bird.

I will admit to having a uncontrollable urge to stop at every weaponsmith vendor i see. You never know when you may luck upon a nice 700max damage hammer for a decent price.

Also remember to check the resistances of whichever creature you happen to be fighting.

Vegasparine is a food so you can still do the accargm/garrmorl combo. Since its filling, on mine, is 27 it can still be stacked with ahrissa. It only lasts 17 minutes, again on what i have, but adds over 20 (BE added) melee def. Which can really be a big boost to some professions.

Now if you dont have a guild chef, or one your are friendly with, you may find this stuff rare and expensive. It uses two veghash, which in turn have subcomponents, to make one vegasparine. So its really component heavy and also takes two veghash off the market for one of these that no ones heard of. So dont be suprised to see 180k-200k a crate if your paying.

disclaimer - results may vary depending on chef, resources, BE additives, time of day, day of the week, phase of the moon, and whether Nicolette Sheriden does another skit with Terrel Owens

health is around 1150, secondaries are around 450, action and secondaries are the same as the health and its secondaries. Mind is around 800, secondaries around 400ish. using gamorl and accargm to bring everything up around 400, and ahrisa to bring up focus.

Synth steak is good too. Food, not real filling, and adds "toughness" (wow, what I want in a steak). You take less damage from attacks - works for a number of attacks or a time period, whichever happens first.

JB take a look at Exo-Wafers made by artisans. They take far less resources, and should be cheaper for this reason, and have a filling of 5. The ones i make do 19% for 20 attacks. Sure its only half of what synthsteak does. But you can just keep popping them over and over. Something that the 27% filling synth steak really cant be done. Especially when stacked with ahrissa and even vegasparine or veghash. When i go hunt im out for hours. I don't like anything that forces me to wait a stomach or drink bar to empty.
