Ok let me try and put the message in this time.

The other day I happened to bring up a radial menu on a nest and I noticed a 3rd option: search lair.

Activating this resulted in a message that I found creatures living inside and took a sample. And the end result was an object in my inventory that was basically a sample in a jar. The description said something about a gifted crafter could "find a creative way to use it", or something like that.

I've been wanting this and I read it in another thread too...could this be the way to mount heads and trophies from creatures?

No, sorry it's nothing to do with trophies. Instead these samples are used by bio-engineers and eggs are used by chefs. So we are still without a means of collecting trophies.

Engineering I gives you a schematic for a Creature Habitat. If you use that Creature Sample in the creation of the habitat you will be able to use the finished product to release the creaures and create a neat little swarm effect. Nothing special, but something to use at special events for effect.

Also, I think those samples are used by Bio-Engineers as well.
