Delta and the rest. I have been having problems with takecover ever since I got novice ranger. If I go prone and use /takecover, I stand up and can no longer run. I can only walk, and holding down shift makes me walk ever slower. Sometimes, if I log out of the game and go back in it will fix. About 3 times doing so cause my character to not be able to move at all. Im out in the middle of now where stuck. /eject says it failed because I'm not in a building. /unstick says it was succesful, but it doesn't work either. At that point the only way to get resolved is to log out for an hour or so. Yea great.

I have /bug this several times with my findings. I have an open csr ticket for 2 weeks now. Yes it got deleted when they did they wipe, and I reopened it, but that was a week ago. No responce still. I have posted this on marksman boards, and others as well. I have posted on Tech Support and SWG Discussion forums, but no one is responding.

All I want is for a dev to say they acknowledge this bug and start working on it. I just saw a post on it and someone said that it came up long ago on the rangers forum, because it's linked to the faster crawl you get at ranger. If you dont have ranger then you dont have a problem. This fits with when I started getting it.

This problem is game breaking, and makes it so you don't want to use takecover, a basic skill you get early in marksman. Pretty bad bug that needs to be looked at asap.

Delta, can you check and see if they are even working on this or even know about it? The marksman dev has been trying with out much luck to get some acknowledgment on this. It has been driving me crazy that I can't use takecover. I used it a couple days ago in desperation, red con agroed on me, and I had the bug after words. I tried logging out and when I got back in I was totally stuck. I logged out, waited 10 minutes, and was still stuck. I logged and waited an hour and was finally able to move again. Yea thanks Devs for killing over an hour playing time.

I can tell you that Yes, they know about the bug (I was one of the first ones to experience it and have had conversations with CS personnel about it) but No, I haven't heard of an ETA for a fix yet. Unfortunately this is one of those bugs that hits such a small portion of the players that it is likely to be far down the to-do list.

Same happens to me, it's bloody annoying is all i can say.

I also get a strange thing happening when ever i go prone with my weapon out, i always seem to jump back a few meters, which usually takes me out of range. Is this another bug or something to do with lag/connection?

i think the warping bug is pretty much server lag... it happens to me if i am running spot something, hit prone, and attack. but i have found it does not happen if i am running, spot something, stop for a sec, kneel, prone, then attack. if you give the server a sec to catch up to your coords it seems to work fine,

but yeah, i also experience the take cover bug, i hate it, i have reported it multiple times and have heard nothing in return...

Well I guess I feel "a little" better that they know about it. Still extremly annoying that I keep being told its low on the list to get fixed. It seems that fixing a bug with a current feature in the game, would take priority over adding features to the professions. That has always been the Devs creed, that existing content is more important then adding or fixing added content.

The warping back bug is also a known one. It has been posted and reported many many times since it was first found weeks ago. It happens to just about everyone who runs along and suddenly goes prone. As someone said, the "work around" is to stop running for a couple seconds, then go prone. Although I have done this and once in a while it still warps me back. But then I experience warping backwards in straight line just running along in straight line. Sometimes multiple times at the same point. Talk about annoying, when you cant get into a city because you keep getting warped back 20m.

Sounds like they need a bigger programmer/testing staff for the 275,000 x $14.99 a month they get from us. Do the math, it's a lot.

The only sure way to beat the warp bug is to stop, straif with either the left or right arrow on your keyboard and then go prone. This causes your character's location to be saved right where you hit the arrow key. The game is suppose to save your location when you stop running, but due to lag, it doesn't do it fast enough for game play. So, when you go prone (and sometimes when you attack) you end up being "warped" back to the last location save of your character. Again, hitting the arrow key to update your location save should do the trick. It does for me.Oh...and this isn't a bug that is exclusive to SWG. This problem can be found in other online role-playing games.

Yeah, this one makes me want to cry... I loved /takecover soo much, and I haven't used it in over a month. I went throught the entire ranger tree without it, and it really would have helped. Can't wait to finish my crawl up the rifle tree without it too. I'll get to my goal of being a Rifle Ranger long before they ever fix this stuff.

And the prone warping bug.... I could scream... Going to try the strafing thing that was mentioned. If it works I'm coming back here and naming my firstborn after you.

**edit** that's annoying. I had /takecover all this time and never used it? I heard someone say it would make you slow and never tried.

And fix the **edit** forage bug, willya?I hate it when I need something to eat and all I get is 'Your attempt at foraging was a success! BUT, the item is discarded because your inventory is full.'

What the hell am I finding that's that big? Lol.

In the hopes that this does get read I'll put in what I've found with this.

This seems to happen quite frequently, so I would think it is highly repeatable.

It eventually wears off. (approximately 10-15 minutes)

Logging out to get rid of it doesn't work. It does indeed cause your character to freeze.

While in this frozen state you can do rollTokneel, rollToProne and other such rolling moves (at normal speed) but you will still be stuck. You can also do these moves while moving slowly before you logged out and got your character into a stuck state.

Dieing will reset your character so that they can run and move normally again. At least it did the one time I died while under this effect.

Once you start moving normally you can trigger the bug again by taking cover while prone.

Here are some things I'm not 100% sure of on the subject.

It seems that at one point you got a message saying that you could not take cover while standing, kneeling etc. Now if you are standing and take cover you dive to a prone position. This is how I remember when I first experienced this and thought that this may be related but I can't be positive. I was amazed at dropping to prone position when I hit the take cover macro key. Then when I stood I was in slow motion.

Also it seems that I first experienced this bug before I made novice ranger, though I can't be 100% certain.

Hope this helps,
Wryan

Squid,

I'm pretty sure they know about it - between us (Scouts/Rangers) and the riflemen complaining. I seem to recall a conversation I had, but I don't know if that was with the Scout dev or just here. These last few months are blending together.

I'll bring it up again.

/takeCover bug is still there. So is the dropping to prone warp if you do it too quickly.
