Thread: Counting Coup Dangerous Animal Petting
This may be my favorite activity in-game: Dangerous Animal Petting.
Yes, it's cool to kill an animal. But that's my trade and it gets boring sometimes. I think it's more interesting to count coup on the galaxy's most lethal animals, and take a picture. Camoflauge changes will probably make it easier, but for now I'm using maskscent.
My favorite photo is probably me in the Squill Cave petting a Mountain Squill Guardian.
Tonight I was on Dathomir and crawled up to a Young Rancor and petted him on his big toe. Rancors apparently don't like being touched, but I was able to stand and burst away. Unfortunately I didn't have time to hit Prt Scr.
Does anyone have some webspace I can upload some of these pics on? We should get a contest going, to see who can have a pic of their character in a non-combat state petting a less-than-safe animal.
I wouldn't advise petting Krayts, though. I've tried numerous times, and they can always sense me 60 yards out with maskscent and crawl. I do have some good shots of Krayts eating dewbacks like bar nuts, though. Fun to lead the cute little creature-level 250 Krayties into other animals.
I also have a pic of two krayts surrounded by two dead Grauls, two dead Giant Sand Beetles, a couple smashed probots, and about 20 dead players. Lol.
Anyone have some space where rangers can place their petting shots? Let's get the contest going! After the camoflauge change I think it will be a lot less thrilling. Not that I'm complaining, though.

That's totally classic.
I always am sure to /pet any large animals CH pets in cities when I see them, but I think you just gave me a whole new past time to play with...
I'll have to get started right away...

I agree, its not much fun with maskscent not working right.

Me petting Graul, Ancient Flyer, several giant Arachnids in Dathomir Spider cave, and a nice pic of an ATST biting the dust have been put up, along with general Galactic things of interest.
Unfortunately, I think I maxed my screenshot saves at 0083.jpg. I overwrote the one with the mass casualties around the Krayt, and also a couple cool ones I could have posted. So if you're saving screenies I think it maxes at 83.
So come on, Rangers, let's count some coup and see who gets the most impressive 'pet!' Can't wait to see what's out there.
