Long time reader, 1st time writer (on this board)

I'm a master scout with a very little bit of ranger, and something thats always bothered me is rangers are hunt masters yet they get nothing to hunt with (you sure can't kill anything with a trap).

Anyway, what do you all think about a rifle (tree) for rangers? Much like pistol is shared with smugglers, BH and pistoleers. Not the same skills mind you and I'm not suggesting better overall (god forbid you get into the pistoleer/BH hating), but something that maybe damages animals more than all other "classes" or has the ability to stun/dizzy/blind animals etc. Obviously you could do some damage to NPC's etc, but I think the major focus should be animals because of the extensive knowledge.

I know this would be a major overhaul, but a tree could probably get rid of or combined to allow for the new skills.

Thoughts?

I don't think we need a tree, but maybe a ranger only weapon. A rifle of some sorts, that has those effects you mentioned. I posted somewhere for this same kind of thing, what if we some special combat abilities like in the rifleman profession. The example I used was /concealshot. Or if they can come up with a totally new one just for rangers. Something that gives us an edge in PvE, even if just animals, combat.

I agree, I think a tree or rifle of some type would really fit in the field. I also think it should only be geared towards the animals and not PvP.
