Thread: Doctors cheap?
Docs as far as im aware arnt cheap, just make a hell of alot of money ![]()
Organic inflation has push prices up alot and prices now are based on player preference, different docs set different prices and they vary from day to day
I know it cost me 6k to 8k for a buff on all six stats on Radiant. I have made as much as 85cpu on avian but generaly follow what JB has stated.
I'm not a Doctor, so I need to ask.... what resources / materials go into making buffs? and how much of each? As JB mentioned it is a lot of work to go out and harvest avian meat.

so the very short version is it costs about 235credits per CHARGE of a buff pack but thats not taking into account any credits for our time gaining our resources. where rangers charge 25cpu for herbivore meat , then up that by 50cpu since avian meat is a pain in the arse to obtain, if I charged half that for my having tho travel all around the galaxy surveying and harvesting it works out to 500 cost per charge.
500 Cred per charge? Wow... I think I should be a doc. On shadowfire docs are charging up to 20K for a set of buffs! That's almost 3k profit per charge!!!!
Anyways back on topic, I have sold avian meat as high as 200cpu. This stuff was REALLY good though OQ/PE over 950. Herb meat around 50cpu becuase of a run of bad stuff we have been having, but normally it goes for much less (like 10 to 15cpu).

Enhance Pak D's (the ones that buff for 2K) require between 24-28 units of avian meat on the final combine per pak.
They require: Avian meat, reactive gas, 2-3 Bio effect controllers (BEC), 2 chemical release duration mechs (CRDM) and 1 solid delivery shell (SDS).
The BEC's, CRDM's and SDS's are all subcomponents
They are also all made with advanced sub components (advanced BEC instead of a regular BEC). The advanced CRDM also requires 16 units of herbivore meat by the way. Good buffs require very good paks and good resources like tatooine fiberplast or lok wheat (needed for the advanced BEC) spawn rarely (about once every few months or so). In order to get a buff above 2K you need to have at least a 808 power buff pak a medical droid with a 110 rating and a 125 wound treatment mod. The BE enhanced clothing and the 110 medical droid have pretty much become standard by the way. The reason we use droids is because a droid gives us a higher rating than the medical center which is why we all buff in front of the star port.
All my subcomponents are made with +900 OQ/PE inorganic components with the exception of my CRDM's. I have yet to see "uber" class IV liquid petro (the other part for a CRDM) and I hunt pikets for my herbivore meat because I can get it in bulk however, on Intrepid dantooine herbivore is rarely good, so I have to make due with what I have. (All my doc has is novice scout)
The avain meat needs to be around 800 OQ/PE and combined with very good sub components and +900 OQ reactive gas to get a good buff pak.
While I still think 100 - 200 cpu is too high for meat I'm beginning to come around to the 30-50 cpu cost.
It's a simple issue of costs vs return. I collect all my inorganics myself so I don't factor that in for my "costs"(I also don't use time because this is a game and when you factor in "time" it feels like work and not a "fun" game).
I'm able to make a 400 power stim B with 40 charges that I price for about 1600 credits. If I pay 30 cpu for herbivore meat and I need 16 units (for the advanced CRDM) that's 480 credits per stim for meat and I'm making about 1100 in profit after that.
Based onthose numbers I'm beginning to rethink my former stance that 30 cpu is "insane" for meat.
Sorry for the long post but I just wanted to give you a little insight into the thinking of a master doctor who frequents the ranger forums ![]()

Please come to Shaowfire! /beg ![]()
Most people flip on me when I try to sell for 10cpu. That's why I only hunt when a price is set up front now. That's also why I probably get such good prices too ![]()
