Thread: Looking for ranger to harvest hides on wanderhome .

Hi i have recently mastered Armoursmith .But i am having a real hard time getting hides in quantity . Would any rangers on the wanderhome sever be willing to take a comission to supply me please .
i am after quality wooley and leathery hides for making ubese ,padded and composite armours.
Specifically i am looking for
wooley hides and leathery hides in a stack of 5000 each of the same type
OQ 900 plus Shock resistance 800 plus and the higher the Malability the better as high mal means lower HAM
I am willing to pay 5 creds per hide and will make Quality armour as a bonus .

forgot to say that if 5 cpu is to low i will pay more but need less hides lol. ive only been playing for a few weeks so im not rich !

Hi,
Just to chuck a few things at you which might save you some time and heartache.. This isn't a flame just pointing you to where and what you need to ask.
- Post something like this on your galaxy trading board
The professional boards have people from various galaxies and it is unlikely that you would find someone on your server , on the board , who reads your post and will respond. Posting something like this in a galaxy board and not galaxy trade will usually prompt the 'trade forum please' response not unlike this one.
- 5cpu is not going to get the interest of many rangers
To give you an idea I am on Scylla and although server economies vary greatly and I don't know how your server economy is going, but 5cpu is very low for someone who can hunt in large ammounts not just dribs and drabs.. If you are looking for say 10,000 units of the current naboo wooly on Scylla I have had offers up to 75cpu, previous shift it was 50cpu, I can hunt herbivore meat up to 50cpu and avian up to 100cpu.. Now as I said this varies from server to server but I don't think you will pick people up on the boards who are willing to hunt for that price.. Generally a ranger or professional hunter hunts in large stacks of 10,000 units or above so bear that in mind too.
That said, hope you find someone and hope you can get it at a good price, there are some people out there who sell low these days but it's rare..

thank you for your reply and the info provided .
looks like im in a catch 22 situation.
need lots of creds to get the interest of a player to harvest hides for me to make armour .
need to sell armour to make creds to pay the hunter , lol
just out of interest , i recently dropped scout to get merchant to go with my armoursmith .i read my first holo the other day and it says ranger , arrggghh .
So i have been browsing this forum for tips .

If you are looking for tips on the ranger profession the FAQ is probably the best thing to read rather than trying to pick everything out of the posts on the pro board.
Ranger FAQ
That tells you everything you need to know really, the rest you can pick up as you go along. If you need any assistance in something not covered by the FAQ then I'm sure the rangers will give you a hand.
Although our profession has never had any help from the devs, we are generally the most helpfull profession.. strange really..

Something else you can do for hides...
If you are in an active PA, that does regular hunts, tell the organizer of that hunt that you would really like the hunters to gather wooly hide for you.
Generally most guildies will give you the hides that you need if they know that you need it.
Ive gotten countless resources for friends, guildies, etc...because they need it. Something else to do, make friends with a ranger, and offer them a barter, armor for hide. This doesnt deplete your money and at the same time, your ranger buddy is protected from the critters they kill for you.
one job i did, was wooly hide, 50 cpu 20k stack. I was paid 500k for the hide and was given a sliced set of composite with 80 kinetic, 75 acid, 67 base protection stats.

Grettings fellow Wanderhomian...
Getting hides on wanderhome isn't too hard. As some of the previous posters suggest though you may need to find a guild you would like to associate with so as to guarantee you're access to cheap hides. Currently the Wanderhome ARL provides it's Armorsmith with a portion of their big harvests and I know many other guilds do the same. Currently there's a young crafting guild on Naboo that might be helpful as well. I'll try to forward you some specifics on them soon.
