Thread: Observations After a 6 Month break

Not much has changed LOL! At least not for Rangers. Overall it is unfortunate because it seems that as a whole the ranger comunity has been very positive and active on the boards trying to find solutions to ranger issues. It i a shame that it appears as if no one is listening.
I might be giving up the calling folks. The wanderlust that called me to being a ranger in the first place is now setting my feat on another path. I'll always be a ranger at heart, and with the right combination of droids/skills I can always act the part. But until they start to show us some loving, its time to reinvest some of those points. Fight the good fight. Will still be a ranger on TC... always.

You know what the craziest thing is? I am sitting here at work actually getting upset at myself for thinking about quitting ranger. All the flood of memories is quite amazing/entertaining. I can't give this up... Too many great folks helped me get that tag long ago. I think I just need to maximize what I've already got goin. I am a Ranger. If I want to make a combat monster I'll make an Alt.
On that note. We do need some lovin. I'm going to go through the posts to see if I can add anything that hasn'talready been said. Leaving my OP intatct as a reminder to myself.

very true.
Rangers havent gotten the love they deserve, however, in that case... not a lot of professions have either. I would say however, that i as well took a 6 month or so break and i have noticed that the core game experience around the professions has improved.
We are indeed imperfect beings living in a world that is getting better and better. When the CU comes and combat professions get a role, i would imagine that rangers (after that) will get the love that they deserve.

I was a ranger forever (foreverrrrr). Heck, I remember when Area Track was introduced! (wayyyy back). The last ranger change I recall was when they nerfed camouflage not to fool npcs anymore. Well, I guess that's not exactly right. Veghash and harvest droids would be the last changes I remember, but as far as ranger specific changes (every prof got food buffs, quite a few got droids) I think it would be the camo nerf, yeah. Man... that was a very long time ago

Don't do that, just make another toon on a different server the way you want to try out something new, but don't give up that hard earned well loved Ranger. Keep him ready. Who knows one of these days the devs just might realize that SW never had Park Rangers. That It is about the GCW. Yes a rangers skill still should make him the dealiest hunter out there (which none of us are in fact even now since a TKA or other Master Brawler can take on six Enraged Rancors at one time. So unless you happen to be a Ranger/TKM you are not the baddest hunter in the lands. Gads in the movies the only one who could take on a Rancor one on one was a Jedi Knight so go figure and he never did six at once.)
But we love being rangers, in fact in other games that have rangers we usually are Rangers there also (but at least they are considered fighters and not Park Rangers).
So keep that guy and make another you can use for now.
