While TC-Bria is available I took a bit of time to try out our cammo against some of the uglies ingame.

OK, mostly faction NPC's on the planets where frogs were / I had the resources to hand.

Craft tools were brand new, craft station was the closest public one to the starport.

First finding, based on some truly awful Tatooine resources, some medium resources and some quite splendid resources. The stats of the resource make NO difference to the actual cammo whatsoever other than the amount of charges you get off one pack. Ranged from 7 withteh really orrid stuff and a failed experimentation roll to 23 with the mostly nice.

Who do they work against. Well, an overt Alliance colonel with -ve 5k Imp faction can walk through a crackdown patrol, stand in the patrol, start firing from within the patrol and they join in! Oh, he had no ranger skills, just cammo applied by my main char.

My Bria'n Ranger's been copied over, so , taking him out with his existing faction problems (-ve with most folk he's ever met cos he kills them for loot) the static mobs of hermits who AoS ignored him, the Valarian gangs, likewise. In fact, all NPC's who he had -ve faction with totally blanked him.

High end NPC's, such as NightSisters, would aggro even though the cammo remained unbroken. Usually I was too busy being dead to do much about it. Oh, and NS Rangers? They're just plain mean. Cammo still holding one of them aggroed on me, so I lit out of there and headed straight up a hill. 3km later she was STILL on my tail. In the end I let her catch me and kill me, I was gettin creeped out! Cammo was, LONG gone by then.

Creatures, well, slightly varied results. Kreetles... yeah, well, we'll leave them be. 80m away on areatrack, the nearest creature at one point "you have been detected" by a kreetle... sheesh. In general the higher the CL the more likely it was to break the cammo. This applied over all planets and was only slightly balanced out by the Rangers skill level. (Even on a clone it hurt to drop skills, even if I could just go and dial them up again)

Krayts? Don't even bother. Rancor? Pfft, sit and have tea under them. They'll not spot you, but theres more bugs up there that seemed to.

Dungeons. Mixed results. Cammo usually held if I walked in, but once in there you'd occaisionally get aggroes, cammo stayed up but they were merrily thumping on my corpse. Sennex Cave and Jabba's Compound, NPC's totally blanked me. Sith camps, well, kinda mixed. Do they come in different flavours, as it were?

I wanted to try cammoing up a huge group of people and getting them to slowly walk up to a -ve faction base or spawn of something fierce but I got no takers The other one I didn't get to try was cammoing a jedi or a BH to see if it affected them the same. Maybe today.

As I was testing camo in Yavin, I was being quite successful in tip-toeing around Black Sun's, and aggro ST's on steroids... coudln't break my second coating (always broke my first, but after reapplying I could hang around and give them a cup of tea.. talk about the weather and their personal problems. ST's have a lot of personal issues, that's why they grow to become so mean.)

Anyways, the first batch of camo that I used, I had made from high quality resources and it semi-worked (everything semi-works in SWG, so that's my base-line)... the next batch was made with the existing resources (crap resources, all red), and that batch broke all the time.... I applied it and seconds later, it broke (Hmmmm, so quality seems to be important?)

Then, Walking v.s. Speeder..... Tested it on Endor, Dath and Yavin.... When walking there's a high probability that camo will remain intact... on a speeder, it is mostly improbable that it will.

Of course, all of this could simply be a fluke.... most probable
