Thread: New spawns?

Anybody seen any of the new beasties yet, and if so where did you see them?

Ok, I found this in the patch notes:
We have added some new static spawns to Tatooine, Talus and Rori. Static means the spawn is not spawned by players or missions and the spawn area will respawn on it's on. Get that hunting gear on and head out to find the new groups of NPCs that roam the galaxies.
If I recall correctly, Tiggs mentioned that there were new spawn locations and not new spawn MOBs. I will go look for it.

There are new spawns sites around Dearic on Talus... more Sleemo punks. Haven't seen any new creatures, just the same same punks, which go down 3 at a time to fanshot.

QA indicated that it wasn't on several occasions.
many, MANY, TC players have spent a significant amount of their time looking for these spawns over the last two weeks. we've asked questions, and we've gotten less than forthright answers.
having only spent about twenty hours in the last three days looking for these "new static spawns", I've apparently failed the community as a whole. that said, I'm heading back ingame to waste more time searching rori.

Absolutely!!
Zaw, you and the Rori mudpluggers deserve a medal, a badge, a big cake... I've gone out a few times but have had other distractions that've stopped me from spending the sort of time you guys have dedicated to checking out the new spawns.
Don't let the fubar over when it was in/out/might be/dunno sour you, you're bigger than that. /hug
Oh, and if what I heard in TC chat last night WAS somebody hitting one of the new spawn? Crikey... who said Rori was a 'beginner' planet, huh?
(Hey, you wanna know what it was? Go make a TC toon and get out there helping! Take clean underwear and keep your eyes peeled)

the problem was somewhat compounded by wonky respawn times.
procedure:
go to rori. start looking.
find a spawn (no base/camp, no lair). kill everything. wait for respawn. repeat 3-5 times. wait. wait some more.
between running transects, wandering randomly, burning 500m wide zigzags from point to point, and such, we did a good job covering the planet.
I found "camp-types" that I wasn't familiar with (the Narmle Vee with vertex merchant tent and two tents below that, and others), some existing static spawns (bonus: Enraged Miners!), some jedi shrines, and lots of random spawns that poofed after a few clears.
I had two promising spawn locations:
one turned out to the the "Commander's Estate", where a small naboo round with a flowerpot on the porch, four trees in a line, and a gazebo with four seat-capable chairs around a table. a single "Narmle Militia Commander" spawns here. the respawn timer, however, was sitting at 16-25 minutes (he's not very impressive). to clear this as a static spawn, I killed him seven times (spawn, respawn, final respawn and despawn is standard ("three-and-out"), but "five-and-out" isn't uncommon). after that, I started a new Live toon and went to the WP, only to find the same thing in place. the rori landscape was affecting my brain, obviously, since a simple check on one of the SWG atlases (I've been using the valcyn atlas, since I like the setup) would have saved me the time spent waiting on respawn 3+ and the time cross-checking on Live.
the second was about 1.6km west of Restuss. there is a tat-style "Wall House" found in some caves (seem to recall the second cave in Nym's Quest, but I can't be sure) with chop-block zigzag stairs leading to doors that crowd the face of a 2-ish story house (scenic only, can't be entered). I found one of these houses (the back, which normally is embedded in the cave, was devoid of details) with a wall surrounding it, two solar gens, three x34's, and two 'bush gardens'. it had two nonfactioned (NPC/GCW), randomly named aggro NPC's (one 3-5k HAM, the other much lower). I killed the spawn and waited. and waited. 47 minutes later, I drove off to look for more spawns. I sent word on a voicechat to a friend on Live, and he was able to check the WP. he found nothing. encouraged, I returned to the WP. no respawn. I cross-checked the spawn on TC-Bria and found nothing at the WP. still hoping, I logged and went to sleep. I checked it before work, found a respawn, and cleared it. and waited. and went to work. and came home, checked it again, found a respawn, and cleared it. it poofed, structure and all.
among my regrets:
not using my resources wisely (forgetting to check the atlas)
not finding the owner of the THIRD x34 (why keep three parked there if you only have two drivers?)
destroying an odd tatooine-style piece of architecture on rori in my greed to find new spawns and my frustration born of failure and wet socks
(please forgive this last one, as it is a transgression of the highest sort) using my combat-goon, instead of my noncombat ranger, to search.
I'm STILL looking for these spawns (the patch spent two weeks on TC, and some of us spent two weeks on rori), but since I work at a restaurant... and V-day is coming... I lost my normal days off, and have been less able to devote my full attention to the search.
again, my apologies to rangers everywhere: I chose combat efficacy over style, and my ranger stayed at home.
