Yeah, you'd probably need, oooh, 100 hide, 100 bone and at least 100 metal...
BUT
Okay, I was called away by RL stuff there, there was actually another purpose in drawing your eyes to the pretty shiny things.
The Hunter Reserve:
A Player Event Perk.
Only placed by Master Rangers.
Description: A large tented structure, possibly sytled after the Rodian hunt syndicate tents or the large 'pyramid' style paladium.
Contains:
Admin area: Desk and chairs for Hunt Master and assistants.
Dedicated Mission terminal, see description in Function
Registration Terminal. Functions in same way as Lottery Droid. A ticket must be purchased from Registration Terminal before player will have access to the Dedicted Mission terminal.
Seating area, tables.
Rest area, cots. (Non functional as we cna't lie down
Crafting stations as HTFB.
Function. The Hunter Reserve serves as a base of operations for a focused hunt lasting up to 8 hours. It either represents the centre of the Reserve (a non-exclusive area which extends for 2km out from the Reserve Encampment or the owner can set a series of waypoints that define the extent of the reserve (none of which can be more than 2km from the Reserve Encampment.
From the Encampment a Master Ranger can coordinate a hunt in a defined area with the server adjusting spawns, based on level, within the hunt area.
Hunts can be on the following basis:
Largest Catch, single biggest haul of resources of a specific type (identified by spawn name)
First Past The Post, first player to get back to the Encampment with n quantity of a specific resource.
Others to be defined (when I get to think about them some more
As the 'reserve' is non-exclusive and temporary it would not impinge on other players activity. The creatures spawned may be untargettable for players who do not hold a valid ticket, in much the same way that some JtL player-mission targets are untargettable.
The game ticket would appear in the players inventory and keep a tally of kills to date. These would show in an examination of the item in a trade window to allow periodic checking of scores by the Hunt Master and would also record tallies with the Registration Droid (Tallies publicly viewable)

You need to brush that up and submit it... isn't there a thread for player event perks some where?
Its just too cool of an idea to let go of.

Already doing it. Just wanted to run it by the pros first.

Rock! Ya that would really really add something to my play. I love stuff like that.
Hmmm ya know, I don't think any of the event perks are limited to one prof. Faction yes but prof no.
That might run you into some trouble. Just something to keep in mind.

Yeah, I kind of thought that while I was editing it up. I've taken out the idea that it can only be placed by a MR, after all, the only people who CAN hunt are scouts and rangers!
Now, there's no reason that a non-scout couldn't go along to help his team out, but, just like we'd be missing out on a lot at a Capture The Flag event between PvP'ers, they'd just be there to shoot stuff and look mean.
I've also changed it so the Hunt Master is an NPC actor. It occured to me that actually having a player sit and babysit the camp for 8 hours was a little unrealistic.
Made a few other changes, we'll see how it goes.
Pex Player Event Tools Page
Of course, something like this could be done using existing PEP's. A marquee, half a dozen flags, actors...

nice writeup Ken. looks good. hopefully somebody sees it. as an aside, perhaps double-check the outdoorsman 2.1 for my "Big-Game hunting" mini-game that I suggested. Perhaps you can tie that in.

Wow, I really like this idea Ken! I hope it goes somewhere... this would be great fun! Easily expanded to include fishing tournaments I would think too...
Longest catch
Most fish caught
Most fish mean caught & filletted
etc...

Yes I noticed this also very nice stuff.
Trandoshan camps are an expression of efficiency. Adept scouts and rangers, Trandoshans skillfully use the natural resources of the planet to build their impressive base camps.
I have never thought of Trandoshans as Rangers. Rangers have a certain code of ethics and to nature that Trandoshan slavers just don't fall into the category of Ranger. Scouts, yes I could see that, but not Rangers (unless of course it is a truly repentant Trandoshan or one very unusual one who has never fallen into the normal Trandoshan mind set).
Wealthy Rodian hunters have laid their claim to parts of Kashyyyk, turning huge tracts of land into hunting grounds for their savage safaris. These tents make up the hunting compounds from which they launch their bloodthirsty incursions into the Kashyyykian outback.
We have wanted semi-perminate compounds such as being able to put up an camo hunting compound/camp/lodge and would remain as long as the ranger was still on the planet. Thus making camps more valuable again. But, even more important, making Rangers far more valuable to GCW, because on planets like Kashyyykian, Dathomir, Endor and Yavin IV we could set up bases of operation that are camoed (would not show up visably to creatures, NPCs and even players without using a Ranger to "Detect" them, and would even hide other players as long as they are in the camp from detection. This would stay within the limited pervue now in SWG and would instantly make us far more useful. If they made our /conceal (how you apply camo to those new to Ranger) so like Rifleman we and whomever we camo would become concealed and drop off the Radar for creatures, NPCs and other players then the combo of these two very Ranger oriented skills would once again make us very viable in the SWG universe and even in the GCW.
Very nice stuff, I hope they will add similar ones to us, that could be crafted to be camoed to planet specific specs.
