Today I logged in to se if the skill builder on the frogs was activated, and maybe shoot one or to animals and harvest them for the topic WildBil2Me have going... Well to my horror I was forced in to the new modeless control style. And I absolutely hate it. not only do I have to do the testing on a planet I dislike, I have to do it in a interface I dislike, and all instead of having fun playing my character on live ?
If there the devs cave in and add features to TC for rangers and testers are critically needed I might return for a little while, if the skill builders are working.
As since most of the posting here on this board is CU related then I will take a brake from them as well. I will se you all after the CU hit live. Have fun. I know that is what I will be doing on live, (while I still can)

CTL-O > Controls > Keymap > Star Wars Galaxies
Last I checked they wanted testing on Tat, Naboo, Corellia, Talus, and Rori.

I know I can turn it off, and that medium level testing goes occurs on other worlds... but I am still only marksman 0201 scout 1000 in test. This was just the straw that broke the camels back, or what ever that saying goes.

If it's any consolation, I can't play for more than 5 minutes at a time as I crash, and can't log back in for a day.

So what you are saying is that constant crashes and problems with logging in might be carried on to live then the deadline arrives and the CU has not been completely sweat clean of bugs?
ok I know I know, to pessimistic an outlook. I just could not help my self.
(and I really should stop posting here, or even reading, but habits are hard to brake and my 5 or 6 daily visits to the ranger forum is hard to do with out.)

Tell me about it. I am jaded enough to agree with you. It's really scary that these crashes have been going on for a week, and the Devs haven't publsihed a fix yet...
We all know how launch went when they had to meet their deadline
.
But, only time will tell! I suspect a farily large CU publish is on it's way in the next day or two!

All the devs are working on tc stability atm. Infact thats the reason Tiggs and the team have yet to get back to me with the Q/A i sent them
Hopefullly the issues will be resolved soon as i can get your the feedback we need.

Interesting - I haven't had much in the way of stability issues with TC. A little more than normal, but nothing close to what Calculus is experiencing. I admit to being impatient to get to the rest of the testing content, though - there's so very little time left and s many systems to test... /shudder

Even before I was nerfed by the mega-files (105Mb in ONE file, in the name of....!!!, get a GRIP guys!) I wasn't having the CTD issues that a lot of players were having at that point, but I could see that it was becoming an issue and was escalating.
I'm not surprised th the dev/tech resources are now all tied up in trying to identify the cause of the crashes and find a fix. Be prepared for a LONG wait though as tracking down something that could be caused by a number of apparently disconnected events or something downright obscure.

I remember when TC kept falling over, and it eventually turned out to be, iirc, a 'leaky' particle emitter effect on torches that was causing the problem. Of course, that's when we had a proper TC that was intended to find these sort of things before it got anywhere near the playing public.
One of the makor problems that the Dev teams is having to deal with now, in addition to the actual crash, is the fact that so many players are getting severely po'd at the crashes and feel that it should be "fixed NOW dewd!!11!1!one!!" because they are paying to be on TC and test teh upgravamp. BTW, that's not meant to sound as TC-elitist as it might sound, just trying to point up that theres a difference between the mind-set of the 'regular player' and the 'regular tester'. Nor is it mean as an apologia for SOE/LA and their bassackward rush to publish this time round.
tbh, I look forward to seeing a mea culpa on the boards form whatever eejit is responsible for this really amateurish effort which is, honestly, not what we expect from people who we know know what they are doing.
Keep reminding yourself that ALL the problems with ctd, weird behaviours, random c**p, would have been addressed in closed testing before the code got anywhere near TC. All we'd have had, if there wasn't a big pistol to SOE's head from LA (if that is the case) is a vague TH-syle post that the CU would be going to TC 'soon' and the open beta would be opening 'soon', meanwhile, here are some groovy screenies of happy dancers and butch commandoes...
[fatalistically cynical, but da*ned handsome with it]
