Thread: Ranger prices?

I just recently became master ranger and many people have asked me how much I charge to help them track creatures and NPCs down for them. I am really not sure how much to charge them, and was wandering about what price range others charge.

Thank you,

I'd go with 10k per hour. Its enough to make it worth your time but its not unreasonable. If its a toughquest charge more but i wouldn't go higher than 40k per hour.

back when i was still a Ranger, i only did tracking a couple of times, and i charged 200k-250k per hour, regardless of results. so if i ddin't find the Peko Peko Albatross, i'd still get paid. luckily when i found one, the Jedi i was tracking for paid me an extra 1 milllion.

That's what our time is worth now? Used to be before CU that if you didn't get 300k per hour on a tracking job that you'd be wasting your time when you could be making that much harvesting for just mission targets, on an average resource I might add, not even a really good one. I still probably wouldn't do it for less than 300k/hour just because it's so boring, and when YOU don't find what they're looking for they get angry with you like it's all your fault.

Run missions solo, at a comfortable pace, for an hour. Then multiply your earnings by a factor equal to the increased mindnumbing feeling of running around tracking for an hour.

That's your price

Do you guys find that tracking slows you down, or am I really bad at it?

Pricing for your Ranger skills is also server dependent...not all economies have been created equal. As for me,on Bloodfin I charge 100K/hr for the less time consuming jobs. For jobs like some of the Hero of Tatooine quests or more difficult quarry I charge 200K/hr because they are a real pain inthe keester...take longer to find, cause more wear and tear on my swoop, and help to pay for my food, drink and spices I use on long tracks. Regardless of the agreed upon price I always require half up front and the other 50% upon delivery of the goods. I am always up front about the fact that I may not be able to find whatever it is my client is requesting, but I don't give up...and will always keep their request in mind while I am out doing my own thing...if I find what they need I /tell or email them straight away.

I enjoy tracking...it is a challenge that I am always up for. I also make it known that if I am busy I will not break party to go track for someone. I don't need to track to make ends meet, that is why I hunt. As a Ranger I am not an overly wealthy soul, but I make a good living and most importantly...I have fun!
