Thanks for the info... really hate to loose my rifleman mastery.. but i may for some CH.

Camping.. the trick is Have alot of chores around your house to do

I got wounded for 350 health last night. I was happy about it.. cause today I can go home and clean... and every 15 mins drop a multi camp and get 600xp. Basically by the end of the night my house will be clean and i will have gained about 5-7k camp xp

Anyway Cheers....

Anyone else have any other tips to help trap xp?

I'm really not trying to be a jerk here. You just simply throw traps. Here's what I do. I throw up a camp. I make a bunch of bone spurs, noise makers, phecnicine darts, and glow juice traps. Why? Those are just the ones I like to use. I'm a carbineer...so here's what I usually do to dewbacks and lower.

action shot 1
action shot 2
phecnicine dart
bone spur
noise maker
glow juice
legshot 3
phecnicine dart
legshot 3s until it dies

I always wait to make sure that the first phec dart works or else I'm screwed. This is all done at the max throwing range of about 40m. The number of traps in between the first phec dart and the second phec dart are important because any sooner and the dart poison won't take affect. Any later and the dewback is munching on your arse. I'm happy with the XP I get for doing this.

Get a big group. Toss traps at bolle bol, fambaa and the like. Bolle are maybe 300xp (I think) per success, per trap. Make one of each kind and toss.

Also, remember that the trap XP is dependant on the creature, not the trap. So repeatedly tossing mesh traps nets the same as a glow mesh trap.

If you're intent on doing it solo, it's going to be a lot slower.

LOL nah i don't think your rude.

And thanks for the info. I understand u need to just throw traps. It is just my "lagging way behind" skill happens to be trap skill. I do throw traps always pack around about 50 tosses. I will work on making a pattern that works for me so I am always using traps.

Thanks again,

I got a suggestion for you my friend: Adhesive Mesh.

Go up to a creature that gives you .5% or more of your needed trap exp, with a big stack of traps in your inv, and lots of slots taken up on your HUD with them. Adhesive mesh the critter from 35-40m out. Then just chuck trap after trap at your target, making sure that phenacine dart is one of them, so that when the mesh breaks, you have time to throw another. Just keep throwing & backing away. If your meter gets too low, or you run out of traps, use burst run to escape. I did this with a mountain Worrt, and you can too. You can also use rebs or imps to attck the critter if you can find them.

join some serious hunting parties and get off the starter planets. Last night i was on dantooine and i was getting 500xp per trap i usually was able to toss 3 traps per animal so imagine how much i made in a 4 hour expidition.

Snorbals on Lok, about 400 trap xp each. I made a trap macro, set 4 traps on the toolbar an threw them non-stop. Mastered the trapping line in a day.

The best I have found is go to Corellia and find a gronda lair. I use my gsp and have him attack the Patriach Gronda. While my pet keeps him busy I throw traps and get 566xp PER TRAP. Throw 10 traps and that is almost 6k XP. After the Pat Gronda dies, heal up pet and wait for next Pat Gronda to appear. Did this to 4 Pat Gronda before they stopped spawning. Sometimes trap effects would wear off and I throw more. Made lots of XP that night. Just find the biggest baddest MOB you can, use tank pet and throw traps.

I can't stand crafting, bores me to tears.

So I've beenwondering, can we use a factory to make traps?

I played pretty hardcore this weekend considering I started playing on last Tuesday Im almost a novice rifleman and getting close on being a master scout.

However What I am finding VERY difficult to gain XP in is traps. The best method I have found is finding a creature that really cannot damage me. Make 10 sets of wiremesh traps and just spamm them for 34xp a trap. So u make anywhere from 1k-1.5k xp. This sounds like a good method for mastering out as a scout but the XP needed as a scout is pretty low compared to Ranger. As a ranger it is an insane amount of XP probally 100X more to max out as a ranger.

IS there any better way at gaining Trapping XP? If not I am thinking of not going ranger

I am a 2/2/3/4 ranger.

Scary huh?

I whizzed up the ranger tree because of two things:
1) My pet (I am a CH).
2) Nudfuhs [or insert your favorite, large HAM, non-aggro non-mobbing animal of your choice]

My pet enables me to keep the nudfuh at length, so I receive very little damage. While the nudfuh is distracted by my pet, I throw many traps to it. I have found that with my 1.9 scoutie, I can do a total of six things inbetween traps. So, if I have two traps, it goes like this:
throw trap 1 - glow-wire so my pet can do more damage
throw trap 2 (1) - p.dart so it will slow the amount of damage my pet receives
bleedshot (2)
bodyshot (3)
bodyshot (4)
bodyshot (5)
bodyshot (6)
throw trap 1
throw trap 2
bodyshot
bodyshot
bodyshot
bodyshot
bodyshot

Typically, by this time, the animal is dead. When I got the flash bomb, I would throw it in at the end and remove one of the body shots. It worked like a charm and I shot straight up. I will be 2/2/4/4 soon. I think the camping XP is what kills me. Gak!

Kazrath:

Try not to look at it as work, just enjoy what you have, because when you hit Master Ranger after 'working' in the game, you'll say 'now what?'

Also, if you want to advance fast, find a tough creature and apply unlimited wire meshes or bioluminescence traps. I've helped people get straight through trapping line that way.

Yes! You can use a factory to make traps!

I think, however, that crates only seem to like to hold a max of 25 traps. I'm not 100% sure... just one time I think I recall making about 35 crates and discovering two creates in the output hopper.

Using the factory has decreased my crafting traps downtime considerably. You'll need an equipment factory.
