Well I am starting to give up my points to explore some other professions, just tired of waiting and I can get back the class in a month if it ever becomes fun

My reasons

Advanced Trapping- Theline is not worth 14 skills points for 2 mediocre traps. I used to love my scout traps

Tracking - Has potential but 500 meters is too small but with the way spawns take place maybe the 500 meters is a limitation of the game.Creature to hit bonus isn't noticeable. This will be the last line I give up

Frontiering- 14 points for eye candy, Scout camps are sufficient

Wayfaring- Camo kits and Maskscent, are they really necessary? More of a hindrance when it breaks and the number of non Rangers I see exploring tough planets tell me it's a skill I can live without

Take care everyone,

Forgot to mention

My hat of to NRaas, he has showed incredible restraint at some of the flametary posts wanting changeand has done a good job as the correspondant here. He always posts or replies with a very well thought out answer

I'm with you Graf, The profession just got to boring. Camp, Kill, Harv, Run.......pretty boring. I jumped onto the medic bandwagon and i'm having a blast with large groups using my BH skills. I dropped everything but the camps (sorry, i like eye candy)

I never hit Master Ranger, but I have been up to WayFarer 4 and Tracking 4 about 5 times and once again...I'm going to surrender my Tracking skill. Already surrenderred my WayFarer skills last week as I find the Camo kit just were not worth the effort in making.

Tracking? Have a lot of potential. Once again, it's potential and I'm not going to wait another 2 months. It's notworth the 14 points right now. Scouting XP is easy to get so I will revisit Ranger(again) when the Profession is worth playing.

Graf,

I'll be sad to see you go, but I wanted to reply to your reasons real quick.

Advanced Trapping- Theline is not worth 14 skills points for 2 mediocre traps. I used to love my scout traps

There are changes coming. We're getting better traps.

Tracking - Has potential but 500 meters is too small but with the way spawns take place maybe the 500 meters is a limitation of the game.Creature to hit bonus isn't noticeable. This will be the last line I give up

Areatrack is the lesser of the two skills. Track is going to be much more useful. And if you think the to-hit bonus isn't noticable, try it with a melee weapon. I miss way too much. I miss my bonus.

Frontiering- 14 points for eye candy, Scout camps are sufficient

Yeah, if its just you. Try fitting a group of 10 players in a multiperson camp. And the Docs love our crafting stations.

Wayfaring- Camo kits and Maskscent, are they really necessary? More of a hindrance when it breaks and the number of non Rangers I see exploring tough planets tell me it's a skill I can live without

There are issues here, sure. But how many of those non-Rangers are out there without their AT-ST or gnarled rancor? Not too many.

But hey, some of us aren't patient enough to wait for the fixes. I understand that. Just too bad to see all the new stuff get added and it not be enough to confirm that things are getting better

Best of Luck to you and your new profession.

I agree with Delta on this...there are a ton of things coming. Right now the current /areatracking is great for what it was intended for. I currently use it in groups if we are hunting. To track down babies of creatures I can tame. I even had a fella in Coronet last night ask If I can track down a friend he was trying to get to..who was afk.

The traps will not only get better..but they can be used against NPC's. I cant wait to get a conceal kit on...place a tripwire trap...and then take a few shots at a dark jedi...leading them to the trap .

Again...best of luck to you..hope you have fun with your new profession. We will lose more and more each day...but those that stay will one day (hopefully) be respected and admired for what we can offer and do for a group or for ourselves.
