Thread: The way tracking SHOULD work

Anyone ever play EQ and was a Ranger.

Yeah. That's how tracking should work. It should be a seperate box we can put on the side and choose various things we want to track (we can extend it to show more things on track). It'll show the distance and direction of the thing we're tracking, and we can run with it on.

Does anyone support this idea?

I absolutely agree, they need to enhance our current tracking ability. As it stands now, it was nice of them to add it in, but it isn't as useful as it could be yet. With a little work, I am confident that it can be exactly what we need.

Either that or perhaps make it so we can create waypoints to the object of our choice.

Guys,

Am I the only one who reads the correspondent responses?

/Areatrack is doing exactly what its supposed to do- give us a general idea of what is in the area.

There's another skill, called /track, that's in development that lets us do the things you are talking about here - pinpoint a specific creature, NPC or player and track in on him.

Go check out the correspondent responses. There's a lot of good stuff in there.

Agree with B

No waypoints to targets. You see what you see, just like real life. Your skills tell you what or who passed thru, give you a distance and direction. Go from there. You may have to walk some, take another reading, but I find what I am looking for probably 90% of the time.

Tracking isn't broke, it works fine if you are willing to work at it and with it.

Who says, no cheap fixes or easy outs.... Make xp the old fashioned way, earn it

Did they give an ETA on this?

"Did they give an ETA on this?"

- They don't give ETA's on anything anymore, for fear of missing the deadline.

- So... No, there is no ETA.
