Thread: A Question about the Bounty Hunter/Ranger relationship

Hey fellow Rangers..

Now, I have a few friends who are Bounty Hunters ingame. These guys whine how hard their marks are all the time. They also have tried to get people to group with them and help with marks, because some are tough. Some have 10k HAMs, ridiculous resists... yadayada..

Anyway, a good RL friend became a Bounty Hunter, and asked me if areatrack could help him. I was curious about how a mark was done, so I told him we'd see if we can help each other out..

Now, I was under the impression that only a Bounty Hunter could kill his mark. Well, I did help him find his mark, (even though they get a waypoint in the early ones), and he said I wouldn't be able to help him. He tried with tons of other professions, and couldn't get any help.

So, when he started firing on the mark, we were both shocked to find out I could fire on him too. Though, the mark appeared NPC white to me, all I had to do was target the mark, and type /attack.

Is this a bug? Is this the start of a relationship between Bounty Hunters and Rangers for Hire? I don't like the idea of it from a Role Playing perspective, but is supposed to be the way it is? Or should I ask in the Bounty Hunters forums?

Nope, not a bug.

Seems once the BH attacks, then those "grouped" can assist and attack the "Mark". Least in my experiences...

Though I am a Ranger and my friend is a BH, we have had other PA mates group and all been able to assist on the "Mark".

My marks arent that bad, just takes the right weapon, and a bit of planning, but they are definitley doable(at least they dont kil you in one shot anymore like they used to). Even at 10k HAM they arent impossible to solo, but difficult, as they should be. And if he is planning on going up the investigation tree tell him it is worth it to get tracking 3. Once you get to the general area, being able to get direction and distance helps alot.
