Thread: Trapping... with grenades?
When I looked at the trapping skill for the first time Iimagined setting up half a dozen traps in a clearing and then lure/lead a large creature into the traps, allowingme to easily finish him off, possibly even still clueless as to the nature of his hunter or where I'd been the whole time.
Instead, it appears to be a large line of fancy grenades that immediately reveal your presence the second one of them takes effect on your prey. I guess I found that pretty disappointing.
At this pointit's safe toassume that throwing traps is here to stay. Players are used to it and it is rather useful if not altogether un-trap-like.
However, traps don't always work and maybe that's the place where the following idea fits in. I'd like to suggest the possibility of adding a means for Rangers to actually set and hide a number of our normal traps on the ground, giving the Ranger(and noone else)a visual indicator of the trap's location. The trap would spring on the first animal that stepped on it andthe trap's effect would either be guaranteed to affect the animal or have a much higher probability of affecting the animal than simply throwing the trap at it. Naturally, the animal wouldn't immediately know where the trapper was. Alternately, and probably more realistically, the trapper could engage an animal in combat and leadit through the traps.
Anyway, just a thought. Please lemme know what you think =)
As an aside, I love the idea of personal animal harvesters, I'd love to see that happen too.
Read the developer respons... they are adding stationary traps, like lure traps and such...
Having a stationary variation of some of the traps, would be a good thing...

Nevermind folks, I'm obviously new here. Good to see this stuff is already being worked on hehe
