I was wondering do many of you that own houses set a hide/meat/bone vendor up? If so has it worked or failed miserably?

I would like to, but decided the bazaar does fine for me.

I got some buyers for the big stuff also. I find that the bazaar is the quickest and easiest way to sell, even the good bone like Obahi, which sells for like 10 credits a unit. I'm so glad I horded that stuff.

I do not...but I have heard of some that do...and it never really took off for most of them..unless they offer more on there besides those items. I have noticed that alot that craft...like to be around folks in the big city...at least on my server. I always place items in the major city vendors....Mos Eisley, Theed, and the big one..Coronet.

All of my items sell and sell often. If I really focused on it..I could maintain a steady flow of 15k-20k a night while I sleep at those locations. I however do not enjoy hunting all of the time for those items...so I do it once a week...get my 15k when i sleep..and have money to travel for the next week.

It is a nice setup for me.

It would be nice to have a vendor for this purpose, but I lack the business skills and always will. It would be great if we could rent one from an artisan, but that might go too much against interdependence if I was able to control it.

I gave up all my arty to be a better hunter. Never seen a house as usfull, especially sense you can't hold as much in it as you used to. I could never justify the overhead for the storage. If they want to adjust that, I'd reconsider but as it is now, I just travel toword a vendor that needs stuff and hunt on the way.

I briefly tried it, and I've been thinking about doing it again.

The difficulty is location and your reputation. Quite simply, you have to market yourself and establish a customer base. However, my number one issue is keeping a merchant stocked. It seems near impossible! Organics are things that people will buy in such great quantities, the trouble to maintain a store, build a reputation, stock the merchant, etc, seems excessive. Much easier to run into the bazaar, put some items in, and wait ten minutes for the email confirmations!

I suppose I've been coming around to the organics store idea again when I think in terms of player cities and guilds. If you have a number of rangers/scouts supplying the vendor, it starts looking much more feasible.

If you are considering the idea, it never hurts to go ahead and try it. Let me know how it works out, too!

doctors my friends

get to know them, become friends with them.

I know about 3 docs that i reguraly sell stuff to.

Infact they heal me up of any wounds, and my pets, and i sell them my resources.

At the moment im on a binge for avian meat, cuase that is what they need, trying to get 20k together, and should make close to 200k for this. Its worth it, the meat is uber 970 OQ at the moment, but you get the idea.

I dont have the need for a vendor, they send me a tell and ask what i got, if i dont have ti, ill generally go and get it.

Its all about customer base, I dont know if a vendor will work, and besides the time it would take if you where reasoably successful with a vendor is nuts, all you would do is harvest!!!

Arty went buh bye so I could grab some medic. I have a house, but it is soon going bye too, asmy smuggler buddy and Igot enough material for our own PA Hall. Maybe it will be a PA, maybe a large honking house, who knows? Leastways, it will hold a lot of stuff.

I laff at the bazaar prices, just checked, 100cr for 5 hides, be real. I never sell in lots less than 100, and price it so the noobs can afford it (250 about). The docs and tailors get theirs through their vendors. Running out to their places, which are co-located, I usually add 50-100 meat and 100-200 hides... not to mention the two missions I take in their general direction.

My stuff sells as fast as I can provide it. I am not rolling in money, 200K is about what I seem to keep in the bank, plus a large supply of metals and chems from my harvestors (remember when you needed poly for more besides a trap??)
