Thread: Tracking issues
Today I decided to test a few things with tracking that I had noticed were kinda whacky about it. Sure enough things are very messed up about this skill, but the things I noticed werent listed on the Stae of the Profession post. Here's what I noticed.
/track players: While this usually works pretty well, you can be standing right next to someones house with them in it and it wont notice them.
/track animals and /track people both act goofy with 'unknown' territory. Here is a test I ran.
Stood out front of my PA hall this afternoon and tried all 3 tracking options. Found nothing. Walked 100m south and found a Bageraset lair. Tracked animals and all Bagerasets show up. Walked back north 200m tracked and all still showed up. Walked another 100m north and nothing on tracking. Walked back to the front of my PA hall which again is 100m from the Bageraset lair and tried to track animals. Got nothing.
I can go on with other examples but they all come out the same. Even when I was 300m from my PA hall which was 400m from the Bagerasets, it should have tracked them according to the range limit. This issue is even worse on Endor and Dathomir. I can track animals there, get nothing, walk 20-30m and there are creatures all over.
I am not expecting this skill to be perfect, but this cant be what was intended.
sounds like you were near a server boundry. I may be wrong buut that is what it sounds like to me.
anybody else?
Nope it's not near a server boundry. I have pets and no exactly where those are. Plus i mentioned that this is only one case, I have done it many other places. Last night I was on Rori and ran from the Rebel Base to the Narmle. The whole time I was stopping and tracking and I would get thise same results. Hell even 100m from the Borgle cave full of the little buggers.
